Ive ridden and built boards that have surfboard type rails, much tighter of course. They are smoother ride, but less grippy . They dont catch up.
If youre doing radical concaves, perhaps the grip is there. try a tight rail rounded from deck to tight tangent break on bottom. Look at ocean rodeo makos.

I have had Celeritas 3 yrs and now space pickle 2 yrs. Ride same conditions as you. SP is better all around, take it out in 25 knots too insane chop, windwaves. Lots of fun.
