Re: Sudden deep ventilation ?

.... In this video at 1:24 there seem to be eddies left behind by the mast and air travels down them. Maybe if you had a foil design that could create eddies of a type that could be a path for air down to the rear wing? The sudden change of lift in the rear wing may tilt the front wing down? Does i...

Re: Sudden deep ventilation ?

My apologies for more questions with no contributions. But a couple of things still don't add up for me. First. Gunner and scuba state that their "glitches" caused them to fall to windward. This was due to the strut losing lateral lift.(either ventilation or separation) ? Second. Peter has left me w...

Re: Sudden deep ventilation ?

Gunner is great, gunner is good, let us thank him for… what he says makes sense. Plus, he has supporting evidence regarding the cause. But, I’m not sure if the specific ‘ailment’ has been identified. I do like Scuba’s assessment that it is also related to foil properties. Either nicks in the surface...

Re: how small can a front wing get.

they might be supercavitating not sure. Remember the sailrocket has a record of 65 knots with non-cavitating style hydrofoils and that whole boat was mostly built in a garage. from the sailrocket page: "Cavitation is the main problem faced in hydrofoil design. This is the phenomenon in which bubble...

Re: Zeeko revolutionise the hydrofoil for 2015

.... I think Magma has been pretty marketing BS free. We been the first in a few innovations, but have never claimed anything we have not done. I have not ridden this new Zeeko foil, so cannot really comment on anything. To me it looks like it's conform with everything that I consider works, so it ...

Re: Zeeko revolutionise the hydrofoil for 2015

Hi, The topic heading got me curious, but where is the revolution here? Did I miss something? It looks like a good foil, but there is nothing new here. -- Gunnar I doubt any commercial "advertisement " could withstand real scrutiny of promises made. People actively selling a product tend to take so...

Re: 3D Hydrofoil Draw need!

@ arcsrule, I get that part, which is partly related to my question. imo, The diamond plate is not really the reason your board is damaged. nor should it have any impact on weather the foils or curved strut have any technical or performance benefits. many think there are lots of other designs worthy...

Re: 3D Hydrofoil Draw need!

@keoni,
I'm a bit confused.
What benefit are the drawings or 3d pics without related dimensions or 3D data files ( ie step, Iges, stl, etc)?
Also, why do you want a carifino design instead of something more time tested, even if a home build?
Regards,
Bill

Re: Liquid Force fun foil

just open both ends and kick off some super low density 2 part foam to fill the whole thing... edit: better yet would be this foam adhesive used for pond stones. it's in a can w propellant and you could add a tube to spray. no mixing, totally waterproof. http://www.123ponds.com/fp1053.html?utm_sour...
