Re: Stainless steel pins used in leash quick release

The black handle appears to be made out of some sort of composite or plastic material. I had a French friend look at it and he said they did not specify the material.

It does look to be similar to the quick release handle on my bike post. I will have to look closer when I get home.

Re: Don't buy a Core kite before you read this! Terrible quality, worse service, distributors, access to your private da

This discussion has me wondering what kind of people run Core. It could be a case study for poor public relations. I would never do business with Core after reading this discussion. Not because they are wrong, but because they are incompetent communicators. I would fire my employees if this was how ...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

I am rigging a couple of bars with different configurations. One I will have a single center depower line using 3/16 (4.7625mm) Amsteel. I want to protect it from wear, so I want to try covering it with 3/16ID Polyurethane tubing. Is there a specific type of PU tubing I should be using. I was think ...

I clamped the shaft and banged on the eye. I bent it with eye 90 degrees to yours.
I will give that a try on the next ones I bend. I am making a few bars.

Re: Don't buy a Core kite before you read this!

Better change the topic title to 'After you've read this, you're not gonna buy a Core kite. I was going to look into Core kites until I came here. Lots of keyboard courage and ignorant sweeping statements from a Core rep is all I need to look elsewhere. I certainly don't need them as much as they n...

Re: Stainless steel pins used in leash quick release

:remybussi: I bought a 6mm" long" shackle. Cut off one leg. File cut to clean it up. Bent the leg over. Done. 2,5 euros. 10 min work. Did you use heat to bend it? No, just banged it over in vice with a hammer I am not currently set up very well with a shop, so I picked up a vise and used heat. I fi...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

Looking for suggestion on the smallest depower line I can use somewhat safely. I made a couple of center lines out of 1/8 Amsteel doubled up per this process linked below, but I also want to try using the smallest single line I can buy at a marine store. Have any of you tried to use line that is sma...
