Re: Sun protection for face

Two face protections that seem to be very well thought out for watersports are Headpeace and Solshaka. http://exit.mu/headpeace/index.html https://solshaka.com Saw this posted on FB. It shows the Solshaka with a helmet. Looks like a really nice set-up for sun and head protection. https://www.facebo...

Re: mystic stealth bar

The ring sucks ! Im burning through ropes like crazy ! What other ring is there that won't wear the rope so fast ? I saw a post that had a wide ring. does anyone know what im talking about ? Its used for sailing. Have you seen that flat Dyneema webbing that Ion is using on their surf s-bar? It's de...

Re: Recommend me a surfboard - light wind / small waves / 210lbs rider

Duotone do a Pro Whip which looks like a similar concept, any thoughts on this? I'm a fan of this board in particular, but I don't like Duotone's fin boxes. These Pro boards are also constructed with a lighter lay-up, so it's not as durable as the standard Whip. At your weight I'm pretty sure the P...

Re: Ion C-Bar 3.0 Hook Spreader Bar vs Mystic Stealth

Thus... it's possible to get the surf version of the Stealth bar and convert to hook if you regret later right?! Or it would be better get the hook version and add the rope? Technically the Steath bar is designed (molded) to be universal for all of their attachment systems. If you regret it, you ca...

Re: Sun protection for face

Any creative ideas? I use a helmet, that protects at least a big part of the head. I've found that the face coverings (facekini, balaclava or whatever you want to call them) are hard to breath through once they get wet. Two face protections that seem to be very well thought out for watersports are ...

Re: Recommend me a surfboard - light wind / small waves / 210lbs rider

Jimmy Lewis' Canary board is what 1st comes to mind. It's the most bombproof construction I've seen in a production kite surfboard. It's shape is intended for the exact type of waves you mention. http://www.jimmylewis.eu/boards/canary-kt/ My buddy is around 220lbs and has broken several boards inclu...

Re: which strapless surfboard?

Discussion brought back from the dead, Any comments on the Naish strapless wonder GS? Also Core ripper 4 or order a custom Loyd flying pig version 2. I'm a big fan of Loyd (I have the Kite Rocket). The Ripper has the same PU construction, but it also has inserts for straps, so it won't have the sam...

Re: Favourite surfboard for choppy powered up conditions, but still small waves

Not sure how OR duke etc compare, but if you don’t need volume and slightly better upwind, flexy, thin directionals can be super fun! +1 for a lower volume, flexy, thin directional! Amundson Custom's FreeWave is so fun to ride and is super smooth in the chop, maybe the smoothest. It's built like th...
