Re: Front wing for Kitefoil in wave

Smaller stabs mean less drag and more glide. So you can gain maneuvering and glide. The penalty is pitch stability. I do see a trend on the surfing side for more glide higher aspect ratio wings. That seems to translate over to the kite world with less kite power and more wave power when riding. So p...

then secondly try not to strangle the kite (pulling too hard on the bar) when power stroking through the window, Indeed I think this will solve the issue. I was already starting doing this instinctively the moment I noticed the deforming/buckling of the kite and that helped for sure. Reading from a...

Re: Slingshot ghost 4m buckling under high winds starting loads.

I have a 4m Ghost that I use for 20+ knot foiling only, probably ridden it in these conditions at least 10 times. Recently I ran it with a 20 inch bar and noticed the tips buckled under starting loads. I have in the past only run the 17" bar on this kite and have never had it buckle on me. They say...

Re: Why does a kite lose pressure when tumbled in waves?

I would say it is air escaping, maybe through the valves or one pump connections. I've dropped kites in the surf where the water wasn't much different in temperature than the air and I think when you get fold in the kite is when you experience this loss of pressure. Just having the kite float on top...

Re: Slingshot ghost 4m buckling under high winds starting loads.

Hi, I got a Slingshot ghost 4m that I have now used twice. Both times 25-35 knots territory. I noticed that when the wind picks up I am able to buckle the kite during my water starts (still beginner, so quite often in the water). The kite buckles/folds inwards at around 3/4 the the way down. The se...

Re: Why a stabi, when wing foiling?

So the fact that you CAN a foil stabless even with a negative pitching effect profile/wing, is true, and quite different from gliders and aircraft IMO :D Well there are plenty of unstable aircraft in aviation, fighters. And I am seeing a trend with stabilizers where the downward lift is decreasing ...

I’m seeing a continuing trend to higher aspect front wings and smaller with less downward pressure rear stabilizers. It would seem to ride stabless you nee...

Re: Duotone Evo SLS

I’ve been catching some glimpses of duotone five strut prototypes on social media. That puts a rebel possibly sls into the slot for next summer. I don’t know why there wouldn’t be sls juice or mono versions, but they won’t be out until spring, I haven’t been noticing any gold leading edge prototype...
