Re: 2020 Dwarfcraft 3'6" vs 4'6"

I can’t imagine there is much difference between the hypermiler and 4’ 6” dwarfcraft. I’d opt dwarfcraft micro if you are strapless or only use one front hook/strap. Two front straps, use the regular dwarfcraft 3’ 6”. In spite of the pictures the micro does not have inserts for two front foot straps...

Re: Surfboard weight

If you look at the evolution of kite surfboards, it didn’t get there overnight. The Peter Trow directional was a pretty popular in the day 15 years ago, and a relatively thin board. I know Doyle still makes a thin board, We also rode surfboards dragged out of the attic or the used rack with drywall ...

Re: Moses T38 or Groove skate Large for improver?

PurdyD what level were you at when you changed to micro? Sounds about like you where you are. I could carve turns heel side, toe side all day long, I could ride toe side either side. I could not making a flying foot switch to save my life. Video below, a couple of weeks later I changed to the dwarf...

Re: Moses T38 or Groove skate Large for improver?

I wouldn’t be scared to go smaller. I went from alien air to dwarfcraft micro. I think for transitions it’s more about the foil than the board, Even on the surface, especially with free ride higher lift foils. One thing you might consider is where you are standing now relative to the foil on the ali...

Re: Clouds are fragile

That is not why they are lighter. They are lighter because they do not have multiple struts and bladders. The construction is fine and they are using the same exact materials that other kites have. I think beginners would be fine on them as well. No magic needed. They are different for sure. There ...

Re: Slingshot Raptor Vs Duatone Evo in 9m?

The duotone neo is a wave kite.

The duotone evo is an all around kite.

The raptor is a big air kite more comparable to a duotone rebel.

Re: Foil board deck pads

...or any strong paint thinner. In the morning the grips just fell off. I’d be very reluctant to try that with a board. Aluminum booms wouldn’t dissolve. Start with less potent chemical then, but in my experience anything -- paint thinner, acetone, isopropyl alcohol -- works just fine. Pump it into...

Re: Foil board deck pads

how do you remove the old deckpads? Needs more research but back in my windsurfing days I would easily remove boom grip with similar glue this way: Find a large plastic garbage bag, seal the item inside overnight with a wetting of toluene, MEK, or any strong paint thinner. In the morning the grips ...

Re: Foil board deck pads

The NSI pad was $54. I sent a template so it was built exactly as shown with a kicker. I have never seen wear on NSI pads. The top of the diamond is flat. My experience is one solid piece without cutouts will stay down longer. The original grooved “corduroy” pads on the slingshot board were too stic...

Re: new redesigned LF Solo vs SS Ghost for foiling

Oh I’ve been through all that BS and have owned a quiver of Clouds for over 2 years now - I’ve loved them and the Cloud community. I’ve also tried to be a good customer. For example who in their right mind would pay more than the invoiced price in order to cover the PayPal charges? Me, that’s who. ...
