Re: ION Quick Lock - new safety standard?

I think it’s time for hooks to leave. The mystic surf rope slider that can be used as a slider or fixed is I think the way to go if you don’t unhook. I think the quick releases need to catch up. Sure there are rope slider loops and free ride loops but the whole mechanism could be smaller. I think in...

Re: how to self land using the lower center line method

I tried this the other day and the kite did fly and flip over. A single strut slingshot ghost 4m on a sloped beach, from experience I know this is about the worst case situation for a single line landing and really light kites are hard to convince to land. I know it would do the same thing if the to...

Re: Pocketboard question

Are the most of you riding strapped or strapless? Future will be ....... ? I use two straps on the front only. I think I would worry less about trends and more about what works for you and your style and conditions, Personally I use only a front hook. That works well for me where I like to use a sm...

Re: The best way to self land 4 line kite with low V

Thanks purdyd Yes herman As soon as catcher grabs tight the resting upright LE immediately move towards him/her to totally slack the front lines and facilitate the handling of the kite Very helpful to make it easier for less experienced catchers Catchers that are experienced will at the same time w...

Re: The best way to self land 4 line kite with low V

So if someone offers to "catch your kite" try this and say please let me practice stabilizing it on the beach first then you can grab it That way you gain some experience in case no one is there and you want to try walking the lines Plus the assistant might like to see your technique and pass it on...

Re: Pocketboard question

^^^ Started on a big Alien Air for and rode it for a few months, years ago--PERFECT. Once I could stay on foil and start to mess with foot switches it felt way too big. I went to a more narrow 46 DC (137cm) and really felt like a mistake, in that it just seemed way too long still Sold it in short o...

Re: Clickbar red safety line end cap removal

Haters gonna hate. The Click bar itself is great, only downside are the lines (even in the 2021 model in my view) and the wear on the red front line! Foil just fixed this! I think it's awesome and Duotone should adapt this or Evan from Infexion should take it up in the assortment! Finally got time ...

Re: How to untangle a hydrofoil from a bar

Those two videos are great. The first one shows that you don’t have to drop the kite in the water for the foil to go through the lines, I’m beginning to think that the best course of action is to release the bar. Then pull on the center lines to get up to the bar and board. I typicallly have tried t...

Re: Pocketboard question

Great article Purdyd! I think you are right, but switching from a good setup with a kitefoil you can go in less wind than with a Wingfoil setup. One of the reasons that I started foiling with a kite is getting more fun is less wind. Switching back to a wing would make in my opinion not much sens, b...

Re: Pocketboard question

Location is Holland and here there is a difference where you go. Some beaches there are none and others there are many. From my point of view Wing foiling is something different, but will be a go fore some. My perspective is kite foiling has grown a lot in the last few years. I know some who rarely...
