Re: Liquid Force Galaxy sharp nose - safety issue

This is an issue with all hydrofoils, definitely. Use a helmet as you got the problem now, learn to fall and avert, and learn to know where your board is. This can take years though, but it will come in time. Even when we think we know how to, as we think we are never close, it suddenly WILL happen...

Re: Liquid Force Galaxy sharp nose - safety issue

cover your head with your arms and wear a helmet. I don't think this is unique to the Galaxy and impulse... I do that, but still, you don't want a sharp edged board hunting you while you recover. I think it is relevant only to part of the setups out there: The large wing makes it catch the waves do...

Liquid Force Galaxy sharp nose - safety issue

My Galaxy board with the Impulse foil catches chop after a fall and advances slowly towards me often(surface level). Last time it came out of nowhere and hit me in the face resulting with a small cut but could have knocked a teeth easily as the chimed rails pattern is present in the nose too(why?!) ...

Re: Best Foil for Absolute Beginner?

My recommendation is:
Not large, beginner wing(such as LF Rocket) with short mast for 20-25 hours Then long mast for 4-8h, then large wing(such as LF Impulse).
Worked well for me, allowed me to advance faster than others

Re: The stagnant foiler.

I was able to learn flying foot swtich in 2 sessions(80 percent success) thanks to the huge LF Impulse. So it's worth considering such wing

Re: A case for full face?

why wouldn't protecting your face with both arms when falling suffice?

Re: Preferred line lenght for wave/freeride hydrofoil?

Thanks! So that would be because in power sweep the kite moves faster than in a kiteloop? or just a longer pull? meaning, is the peak power different? also, my smallest is 5.5m cloud, I don't like the fact that in stronger winds it can pull violently when flown across the window, can I mitigate that...

Re: Preferred line lenght for wave/freeride hydrofoil?

Do the long lines provide more pull for waterstart with power sweep than normal lines (20m) with kite/down loop?

Re: Does board volume still matter for water starts?

With my LF Impulse I wasn't really successful with waterstart to surface level fjrst, it always takes off right away for me at 72kg, it is quite hard to NOT fly from the begining becauss it requires a lot of front foot pressure which makes the nose dive, sweet spot is too narrow for non flying water...
