Re: PEI - A Kiteboarding Discovery Film from Cabrinha

Beautiful video!
Also, all their freestyle riders are wearing a knee brace. Come to think of it, the freestylers in my beach are also usually wearing a knee brace. I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere, but I just can't put my knee on it....

Re: Snap Shackle problem

Hi downunder, just make a knot from the rope to your harness; when you are finished your session, if it's too tight just cut it with a pair of scissors. It's not any less safe than the shackle you are using! And it's cheaper!!

Re: Taiwan

Sunrise B&B highly recommended. Fluent English speaking and the dad and daughter are very proficient kiters. Contact Sunrise directly and they can give you better info. Haven't been in Penghu for a while but temperatures can change a lot. I'm sure there are some historical averages temp on the web s...

Re: Pain at the Elbow - Kiter's Elbow: Treatment & Prevention

I’ve had this on and off for past 8 years or so. Worst thing for mine is stand up paddling and chainsawing . But it flares up with kite sessions where there’s excessive working the kite – such as high winds, small kite, riding toeside (surfboard or foil), where the kite is blasting against one arm....

Re: What is kitesurfing for you? This it is for me

Wonderful video, congrats Toby! I think both Toby and Plummet are right. If you really want something, go where it is happening... don't stay home and whine. Friends, family, community etc. will follow! Especially because if you are where you were meant to be (instead of where you were born) you wil...

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

Had a small onestrutvalve leak, probably from a hot car, turns out the air is leaking between the round patch and the plastic base of the connector. Cleaned it up and put some Aquaseal over the edge on the outside and spread it out to get some more coverage. Any one experience with this? Will it ho...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

"Lay pressure on the bar in a quick but gradual manner" Great advice! I have the same experience with 2017 and earlier Rebels. If you just yank and fishpole it, it starts the turn too late and is even more gutless. I think since it's fairly high aspect the tips can stall if you initiate the turn too...

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

Fastest way to setup you kite - do not disconnect your bar. Next week: pro tip how not to tangle your lines: wind them around the bar! Look the bar ends conveniently and mysteriously hold the line! Following week: tired of your feet slipping around your twintip board? You can buy footstraps or bindi...

Re: Another casualty in Italy

What I found on the web in Italian says that he was 63 years old, expert kitesurfer, lofted while returning to shore and collided against the breakwater wall There's a video of the location here: https://www.newsrimini.it/2018/10/incidente-in-acqua-muore-mentre-fa-kite-surf/ Condolences to the victi...
