I always wondered about this for kitesurfing wouldn't it be better to have less of a tow in on the fins i.e most quads have all of the fins pointing to the nose, if you were to set up the fins to be less towed in (more parallel) wouldn't the board be able to achieve faster speeds, and be more effici...

thats a great idea simple but effective, but truly looking at rock climbing carabiner's they have the twist lock kinds, although they are more prone to locking up with salt and sand deposits
