yes i do shape my own boards, lately I've been using pre-made blanks, but I don't like them, so now I'm working on a new board that uses high density foam which allows for a strong and flexible design. Also I want to see if i can build a board where the strength lies in the sandwitch and not the fib...

concave on a surfboard

has anyone experimented with medium to high concave 8-18deg of concave on a surfboard. I was wondering about this shape for high chop conditions and how it would affect lighter power handleing.

it does look kindof cool, especialy on the ice, but that brings up a question, has any one tried to iceskate with a kite or is it too dangerous, with the sharp blades.

I've been wearing a skate style protec helmet can't remember the name, I like it because it clips my goggles to my helmet so I have to wear it. but I've been wondering if there are any disadvantages to wearing these types of helmets compared to the wake style.

this is a stupid question but have you tried it without the fins. by the way I was wondering if a heavier but more buoyant board would be better (ie my hand made surfboard similar to fish but extremely strong). I'm asking this because I wonder of having more momentum helps with transitions and lulls...
