Re: Best Way to Fly with Gear in 2017

I use a slingshot golf bag and check it... haven't had any problems on Southwest. I've also brought a bar, 18m, and 15m on my carry on, but they are foils so pack down to nothing. If you're flying spirit you may as well buy or rent gear there, haha, they are the worst at charging for everything.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK6P_FjMd64 Currently on Lake Dillon, the north side is all either slush or choppy ice depending on how warm it is, the south side is really hard pack, although it warms up in the afternoon if it has been sunny and 40s all day. Video from late this afternoon, south si...

Re: tube vs foil in light wind

Just take your existing setup up there. LEIs are easier to kiteloop compared to a high ar foil, and you will be doing lots of kiteloops if you want to climb a lot of vert. What if you want to freeride down without a kite and then climb up again? Then how about packing kite down on tight spot on top...

Re: Hardwater Kiting Global Speed Ranking '17 Week 5. Holy close speeds!

On a snowboard the limiting factor is usually how choppy the conditions are, I think skis handle that a lot better. If it's perfectly smooth deep powder going above 35 or 40mph with a normal board you start to get speed wobble.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Beautiful pictures guys! Noob kiter here... my first time out was on Turqoise Lake last Sunday. I have about 15 hours of water lessons behind me, but it was my first time on snow... alone too. I have a quick question. Before I figured out I could pull on the middle lines then release them to get th...

Re: Lake Dillon Forecast/Forecasting help

If it is west wind it will probably be gusty and bad for learning, that's how it was today. Smoothest days on the lake are north winds riding at the south side. If you're on facebook there is a summit county kiters group which sometimes has conditions updates.

Re: Flysurfer Sonic 2

I'm also curious how the sonic 2 18m compares to the sonic fr 18m. The 18m sonic fr is by far my favorite kite.

Re: SIA 2017 (Snow Fair Denver January 2017)

If you want to ride on Lake Dillon remember to bring some big kites. I've only used my 18m this season on the lake, and only have had about 2 to 3 sessions where it picked up for maybe 30 min.
