Re: Toby in NY Times

For someone who can be incredibly annoying pushing his brand I think Dimitri whould be someone who I'd say epitomises kitesurfing! He does old school, freestyle, waves and rides all sizes of kites, is enthusiastic and a bit geeky about kit, plus lets face it he is probably represents the average age...

Re: What gives you the most stoke?

Going huge - I'm a height more than a glide man and like to get big enough to make my scrotum tighten a little  However, nothing is better than just having a great session with good friends and this is never more apparent when you are on holiday somewhere and have a great session but it somehow...

Re: Airush 2013 Team Series

When there are waves (North Sea) then I use wave kites (Takoon 7m and 5m) and occasionally with little wind and high waves (over 2m) the Nemesis HP 9 - and then pray I don't drop it into the sea as I know it folds easily in a wave. Peter - the majority of my kiting is in west central Scotland and b...

Re: Airush 2013 Team Series

@s29feb In the video you are testing a wave kite with a twintip on micro waves (<75 cm) ??? No very convincing. That I can even do with old school high jump kites (Best Nemesis HP 2008) For a test you need to have and wave board, 3m waves and about 30 knots side on shore - then test the drifting ab...

Re: Airush 2013 Team Series

2013 Airush Team Razor What to say? The Razor is what the Razor does. It is a sharp, precise tool and this is why I personally use them. Being someone who started during the ‘bow’ revolution the hype at the time instilled a certain amount of fear and trepidation towards C kites. For anyone whose ex...

Re: Airstyle World Championship in Germany

Editied from my NY Times post: The ‘sport’ is diverse enough with the types of comps already there – does it need the ‘show’ of Airstyle and does this bring anything new or better for spectators. IMO no and it might just confuse people more especially when it has been done better e.g. the Kite Maste...

Re: Toby in NY Times

Ambassador for kitesurfing? There is something about promoting the sport in a more ‘all round manner’ and fair play to Toby he loves what he does and in the right conditions he does it well. That said I find it just as boring and repetitive to watch as PKRA freestyle or people hitting sliders… belie...

Re: Airush 2013 Team Series

I agree with Kyle - here are my thoughts on the wave and wee video. Disclaimer: I’m a local rider for Airush in the UK – 37 (should know better) big boosting old school wannabe freestyler – 80kg and I normally ride 11/9/7 Razors with a 135 Shinn Street. I’m very picky about the kites I ride and alth...

Re: Using the stopper ball - advice needed

The times I have used the stopper are for attempting a deadman and I pulled it in as close to take off aas possible. What you need to be aware of is that when you land you sheet in to get a soft landing but you probably use the sheeting and depower range to ride off with control - if you don't have ...
