Re: New Zealand Kitesurfing Advice

Dont expect any proper wave riding around Auckland, especially not at Muriwai. You can kite on and then off the wave no worries but getting the wind direction and waves to actually line up to actually surf the wave just doesn't happen much. I think taranaki is the best spot in nz for that..

Yes i know the kite is old news, but i've been away from kiting for a few years and have recently picked up an 8m to get back into it and would be keen for any info from people who had these.. Naish 07 Raven

Has there been a kite in the last five years that has similar characteristics to the 07 ravens?? A kite that has that violent yank off the water when you release the load for a jump that i've only experienced when riding a well powered c-kite.. the fast flight up and a even faster flight down.. epic...

Re: Whats the stupidest kiting thing yourve done?

1. First time out by myself after completing my 2 hour course with a beginer instructor... Rig up a 14m 2004 c-kite in about 20kn, on a flat tide exposed rockshelf with a smattering of dead oysters around for added spice. Proceed to try to launch it myself.. without using self launching techniques. ...

Were there ever any reasons for kite pants? Or was it purely a style thing?

Re: Switch Kites

Wood: Combats have wide wingtips and can be reverse launched with a good pull on the rear lines and plenty of slack in the fronts. Re-launch is also easy by pulling on one rear line to rotate the kite when it is face down. Any chance that wave orientated combat will be reverse launchable? When is i...
