In Hawaii, we've been hearing of El Nino cranking up recently. Here is an recent news article on the subject. Apparantly, El Nino is now confirmed but they are still not sure how strong it will be. Early predictions are mild to moderate. http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2002/Mar/07/br/br03p...

'Sup Ski-bum? I'm the annonymous guy that left the previous reply on this subject. The Stolquist PFD I was telling you about IS indeed U.S. Coast Guard approved as a flotation device. It does not interfere with movement or your harness. I've been using one for about a year and am very happy with it....

Wow, the S2 Control Bar looks awesome! Anybody out there tried it yet?

Or maybe somebody knows of other bar/safety systems that solve some of the standard problems?

Thanks for the info!

Anyone tried these? I heard some people have added them to their footstraps but I wonder how they do. Could these be an alternative to board leashes for intermedidate/advanced riders?

Regarding the comparison of the NSI retractable to the Surf Nut: I've heard the NSI is not as mechanically reliable but don't know from first hand experience. I hope both these companies and others, too, will further improve the technology to answer the current limitations. What do you guys think ab...

A kiteboard fatality in Hawaii was likely caused by a rider not using a board leash, losing the board in surf and being knocked out by it when it washed over a wave into him. He was a Very Talented, Advanced Rider whom hardly ever lost his board. Such horrible acciedents do happen. This and other sc...
