Re: Ozone Edge for beginners

I am 80kgs and ride a 160 door in low winds. My rule of thumb is: when I walk with the wind and I still feel blowing from behind I am good. Now convert that to knots :-$ low wind riding is all about board speed / apparent wind. See foils for that. I gave up bigger kites a while ago as they just did ...

Re: Ozone Edge for beginners

My son started this summer and I got him a Rally due to the easy restart and beginner friendliness. After a few tryout we were going nowhere so I handed him my beloved edge 10 and he was kiting the same day - even staying upwind. He loves that kite as it delivers linear and controllable power. That’...

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

Even when I did not have a bar per kite I kept the lines connected as I use 90% the same kite over again for the next session. Now I have a bar per kite. Still the only one who keeps the lines connected except the foil liters.

Re: Gojoe

All my boards get a spray paint job along the way as I really don’t waste time on the water looking for the board. Especially the carbon is difficult in the wash. I use the bright orange street paint and cover it with clear top. Typically I do the find only on the bottom and big stripes on the top. ...

Re: 7, 9 and 12 for a 100kg twintip rider

get a big board first before investing in new kites. Like a Door 160 or similar.

After that you would still need a low wind kite like a 16-17m. It all depends at what wind you "need" to kite. 12 as the "large" kite is definitely too small. for sure a 14.

Re: Gear bag and organization... finally have my solution

Have the kites complete with bar and only pick one kite to walk to the beach. Pick the bigger one ;-)

Re: WOO consistency

I don’t have a Woo but it’s very easy to check how high you are relative to your friends kite in the air. If I look down at kites it was definitely a good jump ;-) just assume that have 23m lines plus a bit of kite makes it 25 then assume they have it a 45 deg which makes it sqrt(2)=1.4 so total of ...
