... My impression of most politicians is that they would take the side most likely to benefit or least likely to hurt their bid for re-election. Given the small number of kiteboarders and the percentage of our demographic likely to vote in a municipal election, I don't see many politicians taking o...

My 07 Rebel 10m. inverted at Ras Sudr last week. Surprised the hell out of me. Leading edge was pumped up rock hard. Oh and it drops out of the sky in lower winds. Scary and dangerous. The good news is that it is super-depowerable in strong and gusty winds. However bad it gets you just keep pushing ...

Difficult one. In one of my favourite spots we have a real problem with a minority of idiot kitesurfers using other water users, particularly surfers, as slalom poles to gybe around. I fear we are close to a ban. What is a young, impressionable kitesurfer to make of this video? How do they know that...

Go Joe ... nice idea just depressingly ugly. I add my voice to the "no leash" vote. I went out for a session in Swansea Bay (Wales) this Saturday. Awesome. 20 mph gusting 30 mph. After an hour and half I lost my board doing a jump. Ended up 20 metres downwind of it and while body dragging upwind I l...

Made my laugh. Round here if you park your car you have to leave it visibily empty (i.e. trunk and all forward compartments e.g. glove box and change compartments etc.) in the open position. If you leave them closed or with the lid down chances are sooner or later someone breaks a window to see if t...

Please don't bait or respond to Mulholland ... I for one find it tiresome having to scroll through page after page of nonsense to find posts on the original topic of the thread. On the thread, we are having similar issues in the UK. What I think is a bit unfair on my coast (Suffolk) is that we do re...

Flying with kite gear

I agree that when booking you need to consider the cost, convenience and reliability (is the airline going to bankrupt or will they be on strike) in the round. It is an obvious point but a £100 ticket plus £50 for your kitegear is more expensive than £120 with kitegear includ...

Hmm. I would be cautious certainly at first and even for the first few times. Apart from the launch spot, can you get to safety at other points around the shore? I would also check the wind very carefully, the fact that it is excavated might create a "hole" in the wind and/or turbulence. Let us know...
