Re: Kite market by brand - ?

I'm not sure you can get official numbers on this. If the kite industry has a trade association they might know. Otherwise, at best you'll get self reporting by brand. Most likely you'll just get a whole lot of opinions from people who say they are "in the industry" or worse, dudes who say, "at my b...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Ocean Rodeo didn't release demos of any kites besides the 10m Roam and 14.5m Flite Aluulas, that is why there is not feedback on other sizes.

Re: Off Topic - America's Cup Sailing - Foiled Monohulls

The main thing is mounting a campaign with one of these boats isn't a $100+ million dollar proposition. That kept a lot of countries out of the running the first time in SF. It was a little less in the Bahamas, but still out of reach. https://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/2013/09/26/cost-compete-34th-a...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

A customer convinced us to sell him our only 14.5m Flite demo kite. Here is what he wrote us: "I got the kite and have taken it out a few times. It is wonderful. WOW. It is getting a lot of attention when it is just me on a twin tip and the foilers out, sometimes, not even the foilers. A real game c...

Re: Upgrading old Cabrinha bar to 2020 Modular QR.

Unfortunately, Cabarina has yet to get the modular bars & parts made. As a dealer, the latest we were told was August, so I'd say after labor day they'll actually be in stores. We were also told it would work going back for sure at least until 2017 (I don't recall exactly what year we were told but ...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I weighed the production 10m Roam Al;uula today at 4.37 lbs. A guy told me his 10.4m Cloud is just under that (4.19). For the three struts, rigidity, relaunch, high wind performance I am all for that trade off.

Re: Inflatable Boards for Winging

Are any of these boards able to be used as a SUP? Is there a way to block the foil tracks so they don't drag in the water? Or can a fin adapter be put in the track to make some weird narrowly spaced double fin?

Re: Introducing the World's Lightest and Strongest Kites - Aluula

Found this video. Maybe some hardcore, non-biased surfers can tell me what they see in the video. I suck in surf so to me anyone on wave looks good, but I can't say for sure how well it looks like the kite is doing.

Re: Introducing the World's Lightest and Strongest Kites - Aluula

There is no such thing as an Aluula bladder. In some early videos from Surf Expo last August they said something about experimenting with different films or something to replace bladders. I thought there might be an Aluula bladder then too, but when I asked last month they said there is no such thin...
