Re: Hadlow ID vs Naish Park 2012

Owned 2011 Parks and now the 2012's. The 2011's got a good amount of use and held up great. Took a few beat downs in the surf with no failures. After a full season never had any pin holes, sun damage or constuction issues. 2012 look strong as well. Solid kites.

Re: Parks low end?

Went from a 2010 10.5m Cult to 2011 10m Park. Maybe lost a bit of lower end, but Park made up for it in turning speed to generate apparent wind to get going in light wind conditions.

Re: Wait...How is the 6m park for freeriding???

I can only comment on Park 6 compared to Bolt 7m for strapless surfing and jumping. Park 6m is an all around great kite. Good low end power, consistent feel during jumps, fast turning and stable for wave riding. Good depower, but not as much as Bolt. Bolt 7m is stable in gusty conditions and more de...

Own Firewire, Surftech and standard Glass boards for kitingsurfing. Favorite is standard glass. Followed by Firewire and last is Surftech.

Re: California winter kiting, does it go off?

LA and Orange County can be good following storms. Last Sunday was typical with very powered 10m conditions. Often this can be a one day event with a week or weeks before the next clearing wind. Stay away from river mouths following rain and you will survive.

Good Luck

Re: Position of the kite during the bottom turn and the cut

Peter Franks description is very good. I would add that the amount you need to drive the kite is relative to wind direction. At least for me, in side off conditions the kite requires less movement to perform bottom and top turns. In side or even side on conditions,I like to drive the kite off the wi...

Re: Is kitesuring a legitimate sport compared to skateboarding?

Pro snowboarder and Olympic gold medalist Shawn White was asked whether skateboarding or snowboarding took more talent at the professional level. He answer was skateboarding without a doubt. Kitesurfing in waves is killer, but what skateboarders like Mark Appleyard, Lance Mountian and Danny Way have...

Re: Tips for Jumping Strapless?

Great advice in the posts about stance, pressure transfer from front to back of board for pop and using wind pressure on the bottom of the board. I only ride surfboards and one milestone for me that helped landing strapless jumps and jump jibes was learning to grab the rail. This greatly improved my...
