Re: Where to go for three weeks end of 2019 (Nov.-Dec.)?

By December, the entire Caribbean is on. choose your favorite island and it will work. At this time, further east and south is a bit more steady and reliable in my experience. most islands are good for flat water and beginners with the exception of Barbados. these islands are also great for snorkeli...

Re: I Think We Have More Drift !

Got a 2019 Naish Pivot 6. I have had the 2017's for a few years & love the kites. My favorite is the 6 meter hands down for wave riding. I don't care if I'm underpowered on it. I like having a smaller, faster kite in the surf. I rode the 2019 for one session & thought it was awesome. I think they'v...

Re: state of the art wave kite foiling

... So yes, foiling "looks" so different than what the foiler is actually experiencing. And, to me, the distinct difference from other seemingly related sports is that while we ride on a board that looks like a snowboard, surfboard or skateboard, we really aren't riding anything even remotely relat...

Re: what Air lines to use? USA - Cape Town in January

The "golf bag" is hit or miss with United. I've done it about 10 times and made it free 8 and the other 2 were $250 each way. Ouch! It seems its the mood of the gate agent. Lately I bring kites and rent a board unless it's a long stay and worth the risk. I might try this flight in January too. Usual...

Re: As a beginner when can i start trying to hydrofoil?

I say go for it now. amazingly, a lot of skills you'd learn progressing on TT won't translate anyway. You'll never learn super light wind kite flying. you'll never learn the strange new balance. if you are ambitious and determined and don't mind swimming in, you're ready. do wear a helmet.

Re: World travel - long term

this is super individualized. so many factors including your budget, life style, attention span and need for new challenges, both kiting and intellectual. elguapo even got bored with the Colombianas! I suggest you test the waters. take your longest previous travel trip and increase it by 3-4 times a...

Re: What is the biggest kite you use for foiling?

Hey guys, how’s it going? What’s your most used kite for foiling? I’m located in Florida so in the summer the wind is pretty light. I was looking to add a 15m NV to my quiver or get a foil, in that case what’s the biggest kite you use when foiling? I just want to use it for the days that the wind i...

Re: Mauritius

I completely disagree. Mauritius is never windy and the waves are very small. There is no need to go any time of year. I have no idea why "Le Morne" is on my profile. Must be a typo. :jump:

Re: When will i relax and enjoy my foiling?

so many great comments. I'm still relatively new (can foiling jibe but not switch feet). I think it depends on what you mean relax. if you mean "no unexpected exploding crashes" then yes, that will come soon. If I wanted, I could go all day with (almost) no crash and ride heel and then toe side and ...
