Kitesurfing on Wii

I was curious to see how long this would take, but apparently there is going to be a Wii kitesurfing game. Not a game in itself, but part of a bundled set of 'active life extreme' sports games. I'll probably be suckered into buying/trying it, but I'm sure it'll be a let down. http://www.usatoday.com...

Re: Naish Helix vs. Ocean Rodeo Rise

I agree with the post about getting used to a kite. I demo'd a 9m Helix today at the same demo and usually ride Havocs... the kite was super smooth and really pulled upwind (went from a 14m '08 Havoc to the much smaller kite). I couldn't time a jump/back roll (I send the kite for these) at all, but ...

Re: flysurfer demo near charleston

Hey, I recently moved down to Chucktown and fly a 19m Silver Arrow when I have to... actually haven't used it in the 5 weeks or so that I've been down due to being too busy with work. Drop me a PM if you're up for trying it out some time. BTW - I don't sell or have any association with Flysurfer, bu...

Re: Hilton Head - is it worth it?

I like what I'm reading. I'm moving to Charleston, hopefully in mid March, and REALLY looking forward to kiting on a regular basis again. From the catchsomeair website, it looks like March through July is a good time of year, but what wind speeds (kts) are we talking as typical? Will I need anything...

Re: Pigtail knot too small - LF Havoc '07

I ride '08 Havocs and had one of my inside/power lines come undone right after launching. Slow, but somewhat powerful spiral until the kite hit the ground and I hit the safety. All happened pretty quickly and after an assisted launch which was otherwise textbook. I doubled up the knot, always double...

New Kiting video on CNNMoney.com

Check it out, not a bad overview. I wonder if this video was inspired by the incident in Florida.

Re: Donation Drive - Ft. Lauderdale Lofting

I think a lot of people would have considered contributing or even remained neutral had he not gone on GMA and made an a$$ of himself. Maybe Kevin should auction his kite gear off before soliciting for donations. I haven't been to the website, so I apologize if he's already done this. Too bad. I hop...

Re: Foils Vs. Inflatables

Can't we all just get along? I fly both... SLEs for moderate/high winds and a Flysurfer for low wind days. Each has it's own advantages/disadvantages, but I don't feel the need to say that one is better than the other. Different for sure... not sure why there is such a hatred or feeling amongst both...

Re: Torontos worst kite boarder

Who is this guy? I kite in Toronto and hope that the rest of us aren't like this... I have no idea who this guy is, but will look out for dry suits at my local beach in 75+ F weather...
