Re: kite loop radius for gybe to toe

Maybe there is enough difference between set ups that we are speaking different languages. I have a hard time imagining what its like to use a 21m kite on short lines. It dawned on me when reading the quote above. I can see how you "could" 180 your kite, let it get turned all the way around until i...

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

Just found out that in Hero mode the max res is 1440p. That is Ok. But that makes it inferior to my Noir Matter / DJI Osmo Action setup where I can get 4K 60p 100mps footage and the lens is hydrophobic. So until my Noir Matter dies I won't consider the Go Pro Max to replace it. Also having domes len...

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

The processing with the Max looks amazingly easy and fast in the GoPro video. How has your processing experience been with the Max? yup. we have a gopro max.... the horizon level function in "hero mode" makes the noir matter quark completely obsolete. I hope it's a lot better than it was with the F...

Re: kite loop radius for gybe to toe

f you send the kite before you initiate turning the board, the lines go slack and the kite stalls, especially in lighter winds or with small kites. This seems completely backwards to me. In light winds with a small kite I have to start the kite turning well before the board turns. I’m talking about...

Re: kite loop radius for gybe to toe

But the safest ways is to turn the kite (start the downloop) first to keep tension in the kite lines. If you turn your board first (toward the kite) you will ride straight at it and may lose any ability to control it. This often results in your kite falling into the water. I recommend that you don'...

Re: kite loop radius for gybe to toe

WHaT ?? The kite is following you? Seriously? Do you load and pop your edge before sending you kite in a jump? Im not saying he can't point in a different direction than the kite, but the timing is that he send the kite across to the other tack and follow it in pretty lock step as to maintain const...

Have you actually tried it yet? So far I have not seen footage of the max in hero mode on a line mount.

Re: kite wing low volume board

5'8 gong surf foil package. 55 litre board. With the right kite wing - is this doable at 80kg and strong wind if a knee start etc? Advice appreciated as I know you really need double the volume board but the guys in Maui are doing it on very small boards.... Not unless you are amazingly skilled. Th...

Re: Best foils for SUP "wing foiling"

I have a 133 l crossover board (starboard hypernut) for windfoiling/supfoiling with a Moses Tortuga (the 873 now?) attached to the bottom and I don't feel any instability problem at all. Have you tried it to make that kind of theories? Oh I didn't remember this is a kiteforum! 😂 I have and Tom Tom ...

Re: Wing foiling in gusty winds

That is the cool thing about the wing. It is very easy to handle the gusts. No worries about the kites dropping out of the sky. In the wind ranges you listed you will be fine. Usually once you are up on the foil in a gust you can stay up as long as you nail your gybes or tacks. Best to do them in a ...
