Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

The new trend seems to be for the front wing to be more arched and the wing tips turned upwards. This apparently allows the wing to breach without loosing control.

Re: Moses 633 compared to F-one Phantom 1080

One significant difference between these 2 wings is durability. I hit multiple times sand banks and rocks with my F-One foil with no issues or even a scratch. Not so much with the Moses, my friend split his first time out on what he described as a minor shock.

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Looks to me like something I would use a couple of times and then get bored with it.

Re: Does this wing make my butt look fat?

I also use F-One foils and own the Phantom 1480, 1280 and Mirage 1000. As with all foils ,bigger wings take off earlier than smaller ones but reach their top speed very fast. Drag increases exponentielly with speed so the fasrter you go much more energy is required to go slightly faster. I choose my...

Re: Wing Boards: Fanatic VS Fone VS Naish VS Custom Carbon

I have been using a F-One Rocket wing 5'4'' for the past 3 months nearly everyday, no dings or cracks and pretty light (5kg/75L) but why are they so expensive ?

Anyhow from my experience, more than size or volume, total weight and swing weight are the most important things with a wingboard.

Not sure about real innovation or exclusivity. Pentax sail cloth has been used in the silmaking industrie for many years. Not sure how it compares with Penta tx but the names are very similar.

Also watched the video carefully. Although I already do low volume waterstarts indicating the volume of the boards without mentionning rider weight means nothing, It 's all related.

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

Dude, you've lost it! No hardcore kite foil racer on the planet is going to want to switch to a soft little wing and sacrifice the speed and power that comes with dropping a foil on its side and loading up. I already know of a couple of top riders in racing, through a friend, all charged up about i...

Re: Rule of thumb on wing size versus kite size (for TT) ?

At 56kg I would be starting with a 4m wing. No matter what size wing you have you won't be going in much less than 20 knots. Winging takes a fair bit of technique to get up on the foil, especially in lighter wind. More power from a bigger wing doesn't necessarily translate into lighter wind riding ...
