Re: Rule of thumb on wing size versus kite size (for TT) ?

When I first started Wingfoiling I new that when average weight retards on TT :) could stay upwind on their 12m kites I would be OK with my 4.2m Wing/1500 foil (I weigh 66kg). Lately after having progressed and using the same gear I can get going when they are struggling to stay upwind.

Pretty sure it's excess resin that filled up the wrinkles in vour vac bag. Just sand em down and you will be fine

Re: Fone Phantom 1080 vs Fone Phantom 1080

Aha! You thought you discovered a typo! Not so! The Phantom 1080 Foil may be the first crossover foil between kiting and winging! Yesterday I did a review of the Phantom 1080 compared to the Moses 633. In that review I mentioned that the Phantom 1080 had become my new favorite kite foil. And it was...

Re: What foil.

I can suggest the brand Ketos, WaveXL as an allround wing with S2 rear wing (my first setup), pocket 118 is my board. Im very impressed by the brand, people and the smooth feeling of the ride. Very easy to mount and dismount, light and a great finish & workmanship. True quality, unlike some shinny ...

Re: What foil.

If you enjoyed the Mirage 800 why not go for that? Never seen or tried a J shapes but having repaired a few foils here and there for friends can say that although they look good on the outside (shinny) Moses wings carbon layup (wood core?) construction is nowhere as good as F-One's which is solide p...

Re: Any review of the all carbon F-One Phantom 1280

I hve used 105 and 85cm masts for wingfoiling and they are both super stiff.

Re: Who are the Wing foilers ?

On my spots it's mostly kitesurfers giving wingfoiling a go, but unsuccessfully as non of them is flying consistenly or returning to their starting point. The few windsurfers that are doing it are much more succesfull, jibing and even tacking for a few, still early days though. Here it was kitefoil...

Re: Any review of the all carbon F-One Phantom 1280

cheers, Im 73kg so thats just what I wanted to hear. Have you ridden the 85cm carbon mast? Is it stiff enough for winging? Some carbon masts are better suited to prone foiling and kiting than wing and SUP. How is the F-One mast? Yes, I use 85cm (wing/surf) and 105cm (for kitefoil) carbon masts. No ...

Re: Any review of the all carbon F-One Phantom 1280

I have been riding Phantom 1480 , 1280 and Mirage 1000 for a while now and before that Gravity 1400 and 1800. If I were to keep one it would be the 1280, at my weight (66kg) it is big enough to pump and catch small waves without using the wing while beeing fast enought to be fun in flatter condition...
