Who are the Wing foilers ?

It's a fact that kitesurfing brands are the ones pushing the sport due to its similar technology with inflatable kites and perhps this is not the best place to ask as it is mostly a kite based forum but from which sports are riders mostly crossing over to Wingfoiling? Are they crossing over from oth...

Re: wingfoiling...?

I think it is has a lot in common with all other wind and/or wave watersports. Windfoil, windsurf, kitefoil, wavekitesurf, surf, foilsurf. It is quite different from all above, but somehow gives you the "best" of most of above - difficult to explain if you havent tried/learned yet :naughty: Maybe t...

Ger I have no interest in taking IKO classes but I want the IKO card. What do I do. Did not see it listed in your bullet points. Tks.
Having seen how easily one can become an IKO instructor I can only imagine what an IKO card is worth...

Re: I'm not convinced (but want to be)

This is what R Naish has to say about winging https://www.iksurfmag.com/issue82/?page=81 Robby says "The windsurfers and surfers are crossing over, but the kiters seem to be the last guys to cross over. If you're already kiteboarding in a place where you have the conditions, and you have space, you...

Re: Marginal wind tacking and big kite handling

To bo honest in 16 years of kite foiling I have never used a 15m kite... My light wind set up is a 10m Halo foil kite on 17m lines with a 530cm2 front race wing, I weigh 66kg. If there is enough wind to waterstart without looping the kite I can do foiling tacks without touching the water and looping...

Re: Sinker Kneestart for Low Volume Boards

Just got myself a F-One Rocket wing 5'4'' to replace my old 5'4'' wingboard and the first 2 things I noticed was : 1) Super light (4.5kg/ 75l) 2) The mast tracks are further forward than on my older board. This translates to a more centered stance and less swing weight in the front. It is much more ...
