Re: Carafino Update: Race Board Logo

Hawaiis, I think someone as skilled as Rush merits spelling his name correctly. Mr. Rush Randle, not Radle. I will agree because there is not proof proving otherwise that manny probably was the first to build a hydrofoil T bar using carbon. So he used a different material, does this hold up when app...

Re: Carafino Update: Race Board Logo

Hawaiis wrote; Quote; "The founder of Taaroa Remi Delahaye used to be Carafino's dealer in France. I wonder where he got his inspiration?" Answer, from Franky foils and design help from a famous hydrodynamics engineer, and others. And for sure he and his team knew they could design and manufacture a...

Re: Getting past the kangaroo riding a porpoise phase.

Relax. Feel and think about the front wing flying in the water. Let your legs act as shock absorbers and try to not over control. And you are learning on a high performance rig so it may take a little longer? Time flying will program your brain to react with out active thought, like how you learn an...

Re: Carafino Update: Race Board Logo

Hello, I was personally at Ciotta, France for the first to my knowledge kite foil only race in 2012. I am pretty sure I saw most all the foils there, did not see even 1 (one) carafino, period! I have not missed the Mondial du Vent in Lucate for many years, other that seeing one around 2008, again si...

Re: Carbon mast layup

Johnny Rotten, gotta love your name and what about Sid? As you noted because the "seran wrap" or other clingy kitchen wrap stretches slightly, if you GENTLY using your CLEAN finger tips you can work out almost all of the wrinkels, depending on your mold of course. Just go slow with good light so you...

Re: Carbon mast layup

Scuba, Sounds like J R has done lay ups and I agree with all, except for using mostly uni. You need bibias for sure, and normal weave, and uni. If you search the french forum you can find layup schedules, see frankites posts. I recommend thick glass mold back to ensure a flat strut! And remember tha...

Re: Which is the best glue for valves?

carmo seal This is a gel glue that like bike inner tube glue melts the two surfaces slightly so that when you join it REALLY bonds: I think the correct term is vulcanise , sorry spelling? I have no idea if this is available everywhere but easy to find in Europe. I am mister bladder valve and patch r...

Re: Foil angles....help

Hello, We always set front wing at 0 degree A O A and rear starting 0 then adding negitive pitch until it feels right usually between 0 and 3. This is if your strut to fuse is 90 and strut to board is 90. If not, or to double check, the measure between the board and both t e and l e should be equal,...
