Yes that truly sucks. I would move or quit kiteboarding, no need to torture yourself!
Wow, that is completely opposite of what the guy who sold me my kite said.
Go figure.

how about this. in general most kiters I know spend from 2 to 3 days a week in water. in media a kiting season is about 8 month a year. if you stay in water about 1 hour per day it's about 62 to 96 hours of kiting per year. phew...that is depressing to read as a newbie who doesn't live in a prime k...

I'm staying at the Ritz and I read that their beach is a good place to launch, true? Yes, from what I'm told, this is the place. If you're at the Ritz for 2 days, stay there. Let your girl relax on the beach while you walk from your room to great kiting. :) She can sit on the beach and take picture...

Re: St Thomas

Can anyone give me some info on kiting in St. Thomas? Where to ride/launch etc? I found some good info on this forum by doing a search for "St. Thomas". As was recommended, I also called John Philips who runs West Indies Windsurfing at 340-775-6530. (kite sales and lessons, sailboats & windsurfing)...

what about just srubbing with regular soap and water first? see if that works and then rinse well. (also still wondering about those non-detergent cleaners they have for snowboard coats, camping stuff, and the like) I had heard that soap is a bad thing...but it has to be less damaging then bleach. ...

diluted bleach dude then nutralise with dilted vinegar, Kite will look good as new Has anyone else tried this? Just saw another post where someone swore against using bleach. Granted, dilluted and then neutralized sounds better, still don't want to weaken anything. But, I can spot clean it so it wo...

Cleaning mildew from kite ?

Had my kite out 2 days ago in brackish water and I guess it wasn't salty enough to keep mildew away. Just unpacked it (was mostly dry when I packed it up on the beach) and found my first mildew stains. They are tea colored stains that don't wipe off with a wet rag. Is there any way to clean these st...

How much do replacement bladders cost? (SS if it matters)

Haven't had to buy them yet. Just curious. Weighing the effort of that repair, and hoping I do it correctly, to the cost of new bladders. Overpriced, no doubt...
