Re: Kiting specific Snowboard design and size thoughts?

You may not have to go as long with R. camber/R sidecut. Basically an oval shaped board that is very wide through the center. Lib Tech was making a board called the banana hammock & really not sure of other builders of boards with similar shape. If you see an old Ozone board - they have that shape &...

Re: Kiting specific Snowboard design and size thoughts?

Bigger & wider will definitely be your friend. A split board will be your safety mechanism. Mine has probably saved my life at least once & saved hours of aggravated post holing numerous times. It is really easy to get a kit to make a split board once you've found the board you like. The 1st step is...

Re: Switch Nitro 7

Leant Im wondering why youd compare it to 3 slow turning kites ? Check out how much he was throwing down on red bull KOA tv. A park and ride kite does do all that stuff easily.. N-7 (if I get 1) would be my primary snow kite. Edge, Turbine, & FS Boost 2 are great snow kites. I am not into freestyle...

Re: Switch Nitro 7

Yeah, I'm sure they do some minor adjustments but it is pretty disappointing to just buy other designs after all the awesome Bill Hansen designs. I'm yet to see any non-Hansen Switch kites at my local. The spider bridle was Hansen's, so logical it's gone. I had the N-5 14M & 7M & all the spider bri...

Really looking forward to rider reviews on this kite. Especially if someone has a good comparison to Ozone Edge or Flysurfer Boost 2

Re: Flysurfer Soul

The problem with Flysurfer kites lately is they are trying to use very high tensile strength lines but very thin lines to minimize turning drag. The problem with these lines is very poor abrasion resistance. The other problem in the US is the distributor for FS doesn't give a crap about customers. T...

Re: Is Element 6 good for inland gusty conditions?

I have a quiver of them & use them mostly in snow. Very smooth turning kite but not the most powerful turns. Flies & behaves a lot like a SS rally in my opinion. Relaunches well. Boosts pretty decent. It's 5 strut so my experience in gusty conditions has been really good at handling gusts. I kite in...

Juneau, AK

There's a chance I'll be working out of Juneau soon with 2 week on/2off schedule. Really hoping to spend time exploring the various icefields & areas near Juneau. I know its vast & the scale is beyond anything I can imagine .... yet. Typically does a person fly in & get dropped off? I've read a bit ...

Switch kites in general
+1

Helium kites have also been a huge ++. For their pricing customer service has been exceptional when needed(only 1x so far). Some previous models have been lackluster for performance but great for durability. Now I think they have both for the types of riding I do.

Re: Core and German engineering meme

I skimmed through this thread and the other Core thread this morning. As it affects my purchasing decisions, I have two main takeaways: 1. The sample size of complaints about Core products is too small for me to conclude that they are generally poorly made, but it’s absurd for a kite manufacturer t...
