Re: never seen befor idea fast kite turns

we tried that a bunch of years ago in the gorge on a V4. It made for a weird feeling kite...not in a good way. Kind of like a kite going crazy on the the of a long rope. You even see that video of Jesse flying in the air with a rope down to another guy who's riding behind him? yeah... feels a little...

Re: Yoga for Kiters?

I'd stay away from Bikram's yoga... good way to shorten your kiting career. locked-knee poses = BAD! I did Bikrams consistently for 4 months and my knees have never felt so horrible. Pretty much any other kind of Yoga is great though. I like to shy away from the hot yoga's though, but that's more pe...

Re: Symmetric or asymmetric fins on a surf board

...I couldn't find anything regarding any significant differences if the side fins are symmetric like the center fin or asymmetric like every manufacturer (at least of my knowledge) uses. I suppose that symmetric fins could have better drive and control on higher speeds and during turns... I don't ...

Kiteboarder demographics?

Has anyone got any solid demographic statistics for kiteboarders worldwide and in NorthAmerica?

I remember hearing that one of the magazines did a pretty thorough survey a while back. Are those results published anywhere?

thanks

Re: Looking for wave inspiration!

thanks guys.
Capetown is on the list for sure, but not for this trip for various reasons (as well as being cold & crazy windy). But isn't the swell season there like april-sept or something?
I'll be there next year anyways so I'll save it.

don't think there are any waves in vietnam

Looking for wave inspiration!

I've got some time booked off for Jan/Feb and a couple of new boards itching to get some use. I'd like some ideas of new places to go for that time to get some serious waves. Ideally: - wind. about 20knots. - waves... good ones. I don't want beach break slop. I want critical and quality. heavy is go...

Re: CI double helix board???

now worries. the boards are supposed to be stronger because of the rail wraps, but still good flex. Sounds good for surfing, but I wonder if the heel dents would disintegrate it kiting. I was thinking of the 6'4" flyer myself. Never surfed a flyer, but I heard they are decent do-it-alls for smaller ...
