Re: Foiling in Exuma

Didn't foil there, but did kite Paradise Bay and upwind to Cocoplum beach I think (there were old huts/swings from the Fyre Festival or something). Beautiful spots, but all flatwater, gets rather deep offshore if I recall.

Re: Slingshot NF2 Foil - Beginner

Reviving this thread - I bit the bullet and went with the NF2 foil - Real was running a deal I couldn't say no to. I'll report back once I get it and how the progression goes, the main appeal is on flat days this summer and for a new challenge. Eventually I'd like to get comfortable enough on the fo...

Stringy Foil

I've heard a few mentions of it on here, how would it be to learn on?

Re: Ocean Rodeo Jester

I'd actually go with the standard Mako. The Jester is best strapless, the Mako 140 is really fun to carve and then boost with as well. It's like riding a snowboard in powder. The Jester would be more like riding a surfboard it just smooths out the chop, good for strapless air (although I suck at the...

Re: Slingshot NF2 Foil - Beginner

I finally crossed over to the Dark Side and started foiling. I am using the Hoverglide NF2 with the Slingshot Simulator board. I've only been out 2 sessions so far, but they were loads of fun. My initial impressions are that the equipment combination will be perfect for me. The board is larger, but...

Re: Bicep tendonitis - good excercises to do, please?

Hey - this sounds quite similar to an issue I've had, and it wasn't caused my kiting, but kiting definitely excerbated it. I would pain in the middle of my bicep shooting down into my elbow from my shoulder. It would get to where I couldn't do a pushup. Simple fix - active release therapy. I'm was p...

Re: Slingshot NF2 Foil - Beginner

I ended up not getting it, I'm still debating getting into kite-foiling or just learning behind a boat and moving to the surf. I'm not foiling to get more days, I get enough between riding a surfboard and I'm going back to riding a twintip occasionally as well. I can easily get 175 or so days a year...

Aruba - Boca Grandi/Arashi - Surf

Heading to Aruba for a quick trip in July. I've been before but only kited FIsherman's Huts. HiWinds will be going on while I'm there (July 4th weekend) so I'm planning on sticking mainly to Boca Grandi. Here's my questions: 1. Is there anything wave wise beyond the reef at Boca Grandi typically? My...

Re: Its a midlife crisis and I need a fitness tracker - need advice

Does the ripcurl thing measure jumps or just GPS track you? Just time/distance/top speed. It's my selling point is session tracking - I like to know how many days I'm in the water a year, overall distance is pretty cool too. It's primarily based in surfing, tracks waves, length of rides, etc. The m...
