Re: Peak4 vs UFO

Have a quiver of Peak4's 3/4/5/6/8/11m and bought the UFO 5m. Sadly the UFO doesn't come close to recreating the Peak4 feel. I wanted to foil in overhead waves and figured I would give it a try because Peaks have their limits too. The UFO feels slow compared to the Peaks, has WAY too much pull when ...

Re: Trainer kite on a paddleboard

Hello, It is funny to see that someone else had the exact same idea as you ! I am considering buying the next F-one Rocket air 7.6 (2021 model) and pairing it with a trainer kite / foil kite (I was thinking about the 4.2 HQ hydra but I read the comment regarding the Peak 4). I really don't know if ...

Re: Eleveight WS 2020 vs 2021

I've had Cabos v1, v2, & v3 (which i got dirt cheap when Best went bankrupt - or whatever). Love my v3's, which were a significant improvement over v1 & v2. They are starting to get a bit long in the tooth, so at some point will have to replace. However, not using them that much these days a I'm fo...

Re: Eleveight WS 2020 vs 2021

The 2021 is a gruntier kite. Better for freestyle, jumping etc. A little better bottom end. The the spectrum of kites it's moved a tad towards the Neo in feel, but still a faster moving more playful feel. I'd also assume the drift is better. I hope they didn’t kill the best wave kite I’ve ever flow...

Re: Dry suit seal replacement OR Pyro pro is it easily done?

Ugh, I bought a Kokatat a few years back. Last year I was about to use it and noticed the gaskets were done for. They were sticky and stretchy. Bought some new ones fairly cheap on eBay from UK but never got around to replacing them. The Kokatat replacement kit for some basic wood pieces and clamps ...

Re: Cabrinha X2 wing

Anyone ride it yet? Yes, I have the 5m. But since I have no experience with any other wing I can't comment on pros/cons with it. The handles make it a pain to put in the bag. The double strut feels pretty solid at 11PSI, never through it was flexy but the handle connection to the strut could be sti...

Re: Wingfoil versus Kitefoil?

I picked up a Cabrinha X2 5m recently. Already had the M200/M280/GL240 GoFoil wings and the Outwitt 100L board. So I figured why not? The first thing I realized about wingdinging is that it's just like windsurfing. It's an eternal struggle for wind! There's never enough wind! And once it gets past t...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hi All! So after a good month of designing and making I've finished the wing yesterday and had a chance to test it today and it came out beautiful! I was a complete rookie when it comes to fibreglass (I had never done it before this project) so I messed up few things on the way but overall it ended...

Re: Looking for a true resistant directional board for strapped jumping

Jumping direacitonals is the reason I still have two Spleene Zones, two Spleene Surf Doors and an Axis New Wave surfboard. Love the Zones and only recently picked up the NewWave, also a very nice board but I have a feeling the Zones are stronger. Though I'm currently preferring the NewWave becuase o...

Re: Looking for foil pumping advice

If this is your first time foiling, you're doing pretty good! But tomtom is right, learn how to foil before learning how to pump. Though a few hundred/thousand? more attempts and you'll probably get it. :thumb: It just takes a lot of practice to FEEL where the foil is and how it's reacting. Right no...
