Re: Fone convertible drag?

Do you sense that the size and rails of the board make the lift onto the foil more difficult? Not sure what you're asking. Do you mean water starts? Or touchdowns? I'm not sure about the rails. I compare grip on the rails to my other all time favorite board, Spleene Zone 5'6. And since it's a TT co...

GoPro Fusion 360 on kite lines?

Has anyone seen/tried mouting a GoPro Fusion 360 degree camera on kite lines? Any links to a video? I've seen a video of a Garmin Virb 360 from a line mount perspective posted around here. Seemed cool and the horizon level worked nicely. Just wondering why there hasn't been more Fusion videos. Most ...

Re: Fone convertible drag?

Love my Slingshot Converter for foiling and kite surfing. Never really noticed the drag because if I'm not using the foil there's enough wind to pull me. You can use some clear packing tape to cover the tracks temporarily. Love this board in non-foiling mode more than the few other dedicated surfboa...

Re: Flysurfer released Peak 4

Hmm.. 29 cells but they're only on the front 1/3 of the kite. And 11m is the largest now, lower projected area but hopefully faster? How much faster? Lighter than the Peak 3 12m. Not sure how I feel about the cells on the tips. They'll probably get rid of the wear that my current Peak3 has there but...

Re: Ozone alpha

Ozone had a very pretty single skin XXLite paraglider earlier and I'm glad they picked the Skywalk glove on the kite section too. Hopefully Flysurfer will fix the eartips of the Peak which look a bit weird (not clean as XXLite wingtips) both powered and underpowered The main thing that bothers me t...

Re: Ozone alpha

Alpha info has been added to their site now. And it lists the kite weights. https://ozonekites.com/products/water-kites/alpha-v1/ Looks like the Alpha 12m is 2.5kg which is lighter than the Ultra 12m at 2.8kg. The 10m Alpha lists 2.2kg which is close to the Cloud D1 10.4m at 2.15kg but smaller. If o...

Re: Ozone alpha

Hmm interesting, the Alpha is a single strut kite that looks like a Reo
https://www.thekiteboarder.com/2018/10/ ... ide-ozone/

And they have a single skin snow kite to compete with the Peak3
https://ozonekites.com/products/land-sn ... xplore-v1/

now they have my attention... :D

Re: Will spleene ever make the zone board again?

Oh Spleene! What have you done! :( As a self-proclaimed Zone aficionado and owner of the original 174x44, Zone 5'6 and SurfDoors 5'1 and 5'7 I was pretty stoked to see an update on the site a month back mentioning a new Zone was coming. I was dreaming of a new carbon Zone in a PVC foam construction ...

Re: Ozone Explore V1

Interesting. Doesn't look much different than a Peak3 to me. Most of the video looping shows a 6m. If their 12m is faster than my 12m Peak3 and comes in ultralight at a reasonable price, I might have to give it a try for water. There's a Gin Shaman 12m on eBay but from the landboarding forum, I didn...
