Re: small kite big board?

Keep in mind that big kite small kite discussions are "polluted" by missinterpretations of how much wind there is. The other day I was on the beach with someone who had pumped up while I was setting up a big kite. He started this whole thing about not needing a big kite and that his biggest was an ...

Re: small kite big board?

Anyone using a small fast kite and big board in light winds? This year, I'm thinking of going small kite and big board and then just swapping to a regular twin for good winds. I'm just tired of slow big kites. Anyway, what size small kites are you riding in what winds, what type boards are you usin...

Re: Light Wind Kite Philosophy

with LEI kites projected area is what counts, so if it is flatter it is more lightwind, grunt is help too. again, it is like flying a four-engine airplane with the three engines down, no power (for kite no wind) - no lift! hei eree, good points there. But flatter with low aspect ratio (which normal...

Re: Cumbuco- current water temperatures

A wetsuit is necessary until the water temperature reaches 32°C. That's me (and lots of locals here used to warmer temperatures). I'll bring a 3mm shortie. Cheers    And you're supposed to buy that investing company from the guy who said london is the best place to liv...

Re: Kiteboarding benefits from weight and cardio training

yep very good post perro :thumb: Another thing that helps prevent injuries is some serious warming up and stretching before a session. I've always been amazed by how seldom I see kiters warming up and stretching, as opposed to other sports (surfers for example). BTW some guys actually think that pum...

Re: 2009 BEST KAHOONA

Isn't stability the opposite of maneuverability, or fast turning? IMO a wave kite should have two main characteristics, in the following order: 1. turn fast , otherwise the board can't be carved fast and in a tight radius. 2. have drifting ability (accomplished by flying deeper in the wind-window), ...

Pumpless is the way to go. I have my kites shipped from abroad, and less stuff means less attention from customs.

Re: Kites...Made in USA????

We need to restart the manufacturing capabilities in the US to cover ourselves when China decides to clamp down on world wide manufacturing. There are plenty of other south Asian manufacturing countries eager to substitute China in their contracts. and stregnthens of ability to weather political ch...
