Getting barreled

Wondering how often it happens in kiting. If you have a sequence please post!

I´m not sure this qualifies as a full tube, but it's pretty cool.

Re: What do the pro's ride in the waves??

I´m a low level rider.

But I can tell you about Guilly, world champ, who rides SLEs that would suck when flown by average riders. So the bottom line is: pro's can ride with anything. It´s the low level riders like us that must worry about gear!

Re: Don't mess with Kitegirls !!! Unbelieveable story!

Whatever happened is important to point out what IMO is the biggest challenge this sport will face in the future: crowed spots. Put a bunch o lab rats on an overcrowded cage and they start acting agressively as well, it's a known fact. People are not rats, but then again, some are more than others.....

Re: Any tips on how to get maximum upwind from a surfboard??

So a great thing when you want to dance on a wave, a bad thing when you want to hum along in flat water (which is why TT's were invented ;-) ) Sorry, don´t agree. Directionals are the best hidrodynamic solution for ANY type of riding, as long as shaped/set up for that specific use. Having a symmet...

Re: Question for kite racers????

Definitely use longer lines, so that you don't have to bear away as much before being able to point/edge upwind. As for the jibing, with a kite to pull you up it's piece of cake! (ex-windsurfers know what I'm talking about) Just practice and it becomes second nature. Besides, it feels nice :cool2: A...

Re: this forum sucks

No need to bash soulboy. He does have a point, even if he almost lost it by this post's name choice. I use kiteforum as a source of knowledge, updated info and healthy humour, but often find myself losing my time reading trash. It´s nice to know that some people have plenty of time to spend cultiva...

Re: Ram Airs CRASH at PKRA Germany 2008

Unfortunately the problem is not the kites but the way this forum is designed and possibly managed. There are a number of issues with this forum, like many others, such as trolls like PMU and others, pimps every where and so on. If the admins aren't going to delete troll posts and blatent pimping t...

Re: Florianopolis Brazil - Info pls

Yes zedzed what Paroskite said is right, november should be 50/50, but since winds in the south of brazil in that time of year are due to a combination of frontal and thermal effects, anything can happen. I would recommend it as a "kite trip" only if you can stay for at least a month, preferably fro...

Re: Florianopolis Brazil - Info pls

Floripa is great. Windwise, not like the northeast of Brasil for sure, but in november you should still be able to kite at least three days a week. Lodge at Lagoa da Conceição, very cool nightlife and close to some of the best kitewave spots (Campeche, Joaquina, Moçambique). About the girls.........

See this thread http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2339065&p=440601&hilit=tacking+a+surfboard#p440601 There's also this cool vid, tacks at 1:23 and 3:03: http://youtube.com/watch?v=qCymH-9WCDw Practicing without the central fin first really helps to 180 the board in your first trials.
