Re: Removing water from board using a refer compressor?

Can anyone point me toward where to get the black cone that is on the plastic sheeting? Is this part of a vacuum bag?vacuum-drying3.JPG Greetings, the black cone is part of the vakuum system. Its nice to have something like this, but not necessary. The yellow stuff on the picture is tacky tape. You...

Re: Removing water from board using a refer compressor?

Greetings, depends :-) I guess you have a styrofoam core. This foam is nasty when it comes to remove water. What I would suggest. Find yourself a frigde motor. You also will need a marmelade or pasta glass with a metall cap. Two pieces of 6mm brass tubes, a little bit 5 minute epoxy and 6mm platic t...

Re: Board infusion timelapse

By the way, that was my last project. Holy cow that's a huge twin tip! yo and I told my boss, 63 meters is too much to carry to the beach and with this amount of rocker, it will not ride at all. By the way, one blade of the power mill, what you see on the picture is one half of the mold making, is ...

Re: Need info about Leucate

Greetings Never been in Leucate, but very often in south france. Avoid in any case to sleep in the camper in Lyon area. It does not look like the bronx, but it is worse. Those guys dismount your wheels while the car is driving. I don't sleep in the camper on the highway. Never stop when someone is m...

Re: Board infusion timelapse

Hi guys. I've made a time lapse movie of my latest build and the infusion process we use. As you'll see the prep work takes about 80% of the time, the infusion 10% and the final finishing another 10%. I only decided to do this after I finished the core, which would have added another hour to the st...

Re: Learning the bridle on my first foil kite

The 15 flies out of the bag.

If you have no experience with foil kites it might make sense to find someone on the beach that shows you all the tricks.

tks

Re: Foam cored wings (another way)

Greetings, I have been working for Schempp Hirth beginning of the 80's.and most of my life I have never made anything else, then carbon and glass. Never a hole foil with holes had been used. Have a look on the video ~ 2.17min. You see very few holes on a very large surface. All are hand made after ...

Re: Foam cored wings (another way)

Greetings, I would like to suggest some things you might want to make different next time. The tube you use is a garden type with a soft inlay. If you have a regular vakuum the tube will be squeezed together an your vakuum dies. I use 6mm hydraulic tubes on a ex fridge motor. You should cover the en...
