Take a lesson, you can use the instructor kite and he/she can also give you advise on what type of kite to get.

Re: ranking surfboard construction Firewire/hydroflex/surfte

I have owned the FireWire and the surftech type board. I have had the same issues that everyone else had where it started to delaminate. The surftech board was fine for a while, until I started jumping with it, after a month of that I had cracked it five different places. I now just use both for sur...

Re: Strutless kite RRD

I love the strutless kites, I have a Cloud 13 and 17. It works great in the surf, I'm glad more companies are developing them. I wanted to buy the 10 m Cloud but they were sold out. Now the new ones are expensive. Hopefully, RRDs won't be as expensive, I will have to give it a try. On Monday, here i...

Re: surfboards weight

I have the Libtech Ramp surfboard which is 5'7" long and weigts 6.2 bl (2.81 kg) without fins. This is my low wind surfboard. Like it a lot, pretty loose, jumps great, and they are pretty tough boards. That is why I got it in the first place because of all the jumping I was doing. I didn't want to g...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

The following is what I posted on the previous forum: "I have also have tried the new bridle setup on waves with the wind ranging from 12 mph to 16 mph. I thought I was a little overpower but it still drifted very nicely when I would go down the line, and turned as fast as before. If it had been the...

Re: New BRM Cloud Bridle Setup - Your Experience?

I have also have tried the new bridle setup on waves with the wind ranging from 12 mph to 16 mph. I thought I was a little overpower but it still drifted very nicely when I would go down the line, and turned as fast as before. If it had been the original bridal setup I would not have even put the 17...

Re: No Strut vs Strutted Light Wind Kites

The Cloud 17M (strutless) is 3.2 kg or 7 bl. Fast kite for being a 17M, drift great, lot of power, goes upwind with no problem, very stable, great for the waves, no problems relaunching but I do feel I get overpowered after 14 mph. I use it with a 6' surfboard.
