Re: Whats the stupidest kiting thing yourve done?

Allmost stupidest. My sons friend sais " Mr. C. are you a man or a woooman" . Winds 30mph+ slightly variable. I wanted some speed runs but the ice sucked, wet, jagged, rough. To prove my manlyness we set up and launch ok but one steering line is wrapped around a center line. I bring it back down , m...

Re: Whats the stupidest kiting thing yourve done?

Concentrating on giving a "high five" to a passing kite buggier did'nt notice my kite dropping, the lines riped the visor off his passagers helmet. I thought for sure we would be performing life saving proceedures.

Re: untwist lines

You have to occationaly untwist them by spinning the chicken loop while every thing is layed out on the ground. Or you can fly it circles and the give the bar a spin too. As long as there are'nt too many twists it wont affect how it flys so there is no need to worry about it. If your inside line is ...

Re: Please Help :)

I agree a 3 meter trainer kite would work well for you. HQ has good prices on new kites and even better pricing on dealer overstock of last years models and there is a great selection of used kites on various forums. Also follow good advice when you hear it , wear pads , its a lot more fun when it d...

Re: Kiting kids

They are full of suprises. Two winters ago I had given my 11 year old a new kite and we were chasing each other around on the ice , I thought I was catching up with him like he was standing still , we passed each other at high speed me going forward and him going backwards laughing his ass off.

Re: best gloves for cold water

I found a thin light wieght ice fishing glove with velcro wrist closer that I use when its a little cool out and as a liner inside my mitts in winter.
I believe its "Ice Armor" brand. Could be just what you're looking for.

Re: Conversations with my kite

I feel almost the same about my kites as I do about my pets. They go with me everywhere and I take them out to play after work nearly every day. I installed a cartop carrier in the garage so they have a secure safe place when not with me. I was truely heart broke when I planted my early trainer in a...

Epic and truely unbelievable that this thread is still going. O+B been in central NY all my life and only 2 years ago discovered the beauty of western Lake Ontario. Surf , kite buggy , no crowds. Spent 3 years around Dallas / Fort Worth came very close to becoming a G D Yankee. I wonder if there is ...
