Re: The new North Trust Bar 2013

Check out the Blade Uni Bar. www.bladekites.com/unibar Lots of similar features, but with an adjustment system just as you mention to go from 47-52cm. That is a well put together product video. A lot of the ideas are good - some are unnecessary. The method of switching the bar length is something I ...

2013 Blade Fat Lady - Second Generation Light Wind Maven

Definition- Maven: The word reached English through Yiddish, which in turn derived it from the Hebrew mevin (מבֿין), meaning "one who understands," and relates to the word binah, which denotes understanding or wisdom in general. Blade gets it. To build a better kite, it needs to be different than wh...

Re: The new Uni Control Bar by Blade

Short of the lines, the ceramic bearing that is found on the Blade bar is the next most expensive piece of technology on the bar/lineset. I have used the LF ceramic bearing for months without issue. So long as you start untwisted, they seem to keep untwisted. Start up twisted..... and it will stay t...

Re: Blade's Official website now online

Agreed that the additional effort put into the tech on the kites design is totally worthwhile. Bro bro brah bro bro brah... Nope.... none of that.. Just a solid explanation of the tech that goes into the design and construction of these kites. Have had 2 days now on the 2013 Fat Lady and Unibar.... ...

Re: 2012 Blade Trigger 14m vs. Fat Lady 17m

The Fat Lady is my pick, but I weigh almost 100kilos. The 2012 Trigger 14m is different than the 2011 in that it looks much more like a Fat Lady in 2012. That being said, the Fat Lady has even skinnier struts, and the leading edge is more narrow on the Fat Lady than the 2011 Trigger 14m. I just had ...

Re: Bullshit Low Wind Ranges Claimed by Kite Companies

By the way the XR2LW 19 (10.75lbs incl.bridle) will "float' straight overhead in 6knots (7mph) Without having to move to kite at all to keep it up...zero hindenberg or backstall . I am not trying to start any sort of mass war here... but your quotation of the weight of the XR2LW made me want to wei...

Re: Light wind kite for sale anyone?

Race boards are great for racing. Currently 98% of kiters don't race.... Also Chris... you weigh about a buck and a half? For you a 12m might be adequate... Factor my weight vs yours... = 215lbs/150lbs = 1.43... 1.43 x 12m = 17.2m.. What is perfect 12m for you.. is perfect Fat Lady for me... Right? ...

Re: 2012 Blade Trigger

Having flown all three, my preference is the Trigger 2012.... although I had some good times on the Vertigo. The thing I didn't like about the vertigo was that if I flew it really aggressively, I could bend the wingtips. To be fair though, this happens to me when I fly most deltas. (Kahoona, Rally, ...

Re: Blade Kites 2012

You'll be very happy with the 2012 Trigger and Prime bags then. Much roomier, and has a huge pocket on the front for your bar, and a full wrap around zipper. I am assuming eventually the Fat Lady will have this type of bag in the future. I'll take a picture later of the 2 bags side to side and post ...

Re: Blade Kites 2012

I just put the Fat Lady (17m) and another brand 2012 16m on the scale, and the Fat Lady came in 4 pounds lighter.
