Re: Blade Kites 2012

I weigh 185 and kitesurf most of the time on the ocean, I have tried the Fat Lady when the wind was 10-12 mph and I was able to go upwind and go down the line on the surf, I was pleasantly surprised as to how well it turned in this type of wind condition. At one point the wind backed up to about 8 ...

Re: Blade Kites 2012

Its been far too long for me to write my impressions of the Trigger in the Wave setting, vs the normal setting. I recently had the opportunity to do a 5 mile downwinder in the waves in moderate to light 12m conditions. Never really juiced, but at times was happily powered, and at other times underpo...

Why do you buy Naish, North or Cabrinha? Blade has is doing a tour this weekend on the Gulf Coast. Why don't you go try them out before you judge?

Re: Blade Kites 2012

95% of riders should be on the Trigger in my opinion. These kites will turn much much faster than your Waroo's, and will have a much crisper bar response. Relaunch is also going to be easier on the Trigger. While the Prime is able to jump well, I feel like it takes more skill to get the jumping down...

Re: Blade Kites 2012

The Trigger does fine unhooked, but it isn't as good as the Prime which was designed for unhooking. I find so long as the kite isn't oversheeted the Trigger does just fine. I am no unhooked genius, but for my raileys and occasional s-bend it is completely adequate. Unhooking is one of the things the...

Re: $$$peed3 v. Infinity, Fat Lady, etc.

It won't roll on it's back like the IDS bridled kites will, but it will depower the same as the infinity, or any Epic kite would.

Re: $$$peed3 v. Infinity, Fat Lady, etc.

The Cabrinha bar will depower your kite in the same way the Infinity bar depowers the kite when the safety is ejected. The Fat Lady bar has a center line flag out that will not only depower your kite, but disable it. The infinity and cabrinha bar will just depower the kite. I had a question on the f...

Re: $$$peed3 v. Infinity, Fat Lady, etc.

I have flown the zephyr, fat lady, infinity, and speed 19m I haven't been fond of how foil kites turn, especially the large ones. At one point I even owned a 26m psycho 2. At 10-12kts, the Fat Lady seems to be the most lively of the bunch. The real question is if you want an active kite, or a passiv...

Re: Whats better for 10 to 15 knots of wind?

Thanks KPS, good info - just what I wanted. I got a 2010 ... for the time being :D I remember the 1st generation 16m Crossbow being a real arm puller. Lots of power... and it was revolutionalry... but after riding it for a while, I began to look like Popeye... I know they have improved over the las...

Re: Whats better for 10 to 15 knots of wind?

Oops... you found my typo.. exactly.. AREN'T rushing back. I have flown only the Zephyr back to back with the Fat Lady. The two kites were quite different. The person that I swapped the kite with agreed that the Fat Lady was faster turning, went upwind better, and jumped better. The guy I swapped wi...
