Re: relentless

im not talking about kite tourists. there are thousands of people on the island everyday right now sitting on the beach. this is the true busy season on the island, kite tourists are here in spring and fall primarily when the island is at its slowest. (except spring break in march). but kite season ...

Re: relentless

just a little more backround about this post: I am about to leave this everyday kiteboarding perfection (where it is currently 85f and the water is 80, 77 in the ocean) and go to the cold gusty (but also awesome) Columbia River Gorge for the summer just so I can do some work and have people to ride ...

Re: Kites for teaching

Re: Unhooking in waves

yes, it could be considered typical to ride not locked in. being locked in really only ads a degree of sketchiness to kiteboarding anyway. there is little harm in getting unhooked by accident and letting go of the bar, especially when leashed to a legit flag out line like a single centerline (which ...

Re: Something unusual has happened.

SPI has been going off since march. the rest of the may and june are still high probability to shred. 24 - 36mph right now, going for a 7mile dw surf run in a minute should be perfect side shore to the face, it is a tiny bit offshore to the beach. was 2x overhead when ben wilson crew stopped by last...

Re: Unhooking in waves

side shore (in relation to the direction of the wave face) is more ideal because you can ride at the kite with 0 power and minimal line tension and it is still allowed to fly because of its position in the wind. too much onshore and you are forced to continuously steer up and down to maintain tensio...
