Re: Jackson with Rebel, Evo or Soul for Beginner?

All three are very nice kites.
I'd agree that the 4 line Rebel is preferable over the old 5 line ones.
If you want the kite that stays in the air best in light winds then the Soul is your choice.
But really you can learn to hydrofoil with any of them.

Re: leash plug on foilboard

When you crash and your kite goes down try to immediately grab your board. Sometimes a few strong swim strokes are needed to get to it. Then the best ways to relaunch all involve using the board. 1. The easiest way is to place the board sideways in front of you and place your feet on the fuselage un...

Re: Efoil now shipping....anyone tossing their kite?

My friends and I tried one a few months ago. I was impressed with what a refined and polished product the Lift efoil is. We were all experienced hydrofoilers and we each had no trouble getting up and foiling in a few minutes. It was smooth and fun but none of us are going to buy one. On the last rid...

Re: Flysurfer Bar Length for 12m Soul

I am using a 50cm Ozone bar with 15m lines on my 12m Soul. I downloop on every gybe and also sometimes when I tack and I rarely have any issue. The Soul is not a fast turning kite but once you get used to it you never have to reach up and pull on the leader line. Having said this, I see no problem u...

Re: Fun riding the new Duotone Wing

Wow, nice video above of Alan Cadiz.
This answers some of my questions.. he can gybe, he can tack, he can go upwind and he doesn't use a very large board.
The one thing he does seem to need is plenty of wind.
Anyway it looks fun.

Re: The Duotone wing

It looks to me like it might be a fun toy to have. I am guessing it will cost much less than a kite.. hopefully. I'd love to try it. I hope Duotone sends out some demo models to some of their dealers. Question for Dan: Is it possible to use with a kiteboard hydrofoil setup? Nobody around here has a ...

Re: Hydrofoil, Worth it for me?

Just guessing, but by learning on a short mast you don't actually learn to hydrofoil. You learn to stand on a slightly more wobbly board. To learn to foil you have to develop the muscle memory and motor skills to be able to feel the foil. The only way you can do that is to practice on a real hydrof...

Hydrofoil Pro Tour, La Ventana Day 3

Connor Bainbridge and Daniela Moroz are hanging on to their top spots for the open and women's divisions.. The racing was stopped early for safety due to big waves and strong winds (reaching 30 knots). Kites used were 7m to 11m. CG results_day3.JPG 54520997_852259761781891_2757762955612258304...
