Re: Cabrinha Foil Problem

I had a similar problem with another brand of fuselage. Some of the screws supplied with the front wing were too short. Eventually the threads in the aluminum fuselage completely stripped. A solution is a helicoil which you install in the fuselage and it provides fresh strong threads. You need to be...

Re: Roll Tacks: Stuck at 25% Success - tips?

Some things that worked for me: - it is much easier when you are fully powered - bend your knees - pull continuously and harder than you might think on your back hand to redirect the kite - don't forget to look under your armpit - switch your feet a bit later - try to complete the whole move quickly...

Why get a provisional and not a full utility patent for the stab adjustment?
I don’t know about a patent..It sure looks a lot like the stab adjustment system that was on my old Spotz foils. :o

But it does look like a very nice product.

Re: Armstrong Foil is junk

I have no experience with the Armstrong. The one I saw recently looked nice. But this post below has a good point.. it is the same type of design problem I have seen in other foils (like my old Taaroa). I think this is a design flaw. The tapered fit works the same way as a Tuttle box, but a Tuttle b...

Re: The Duotone Wing

I am looking forward to trying the new Duotone wing called the Unit. Getting rid of the boom has advantages. Here is what they say: A lightweight and simple wing that packs down small, making it perfect for riders who travel and value a straightforward, very stable setup with incredible drifting abi...

Re: How to foil *with* footstraps?

I almost always use three footstraps. Only in my very early days did I ever have any situations where I felt my foot might get stuck. Simply use loose footstraps that you can easily come out of. I do often ride with my back foot in front of my back footstrap but I always have my front foot in a foot...

Re: 15 Manufacturers Advance To Factory Inspections In IKA Formula Kite Registered Series Production Scheme For Paris 20

Competition like races show us which are the best performing kites. I have raced a bit and I assure you that most racers choose the very fastest kites that they can get their hands on in the hope that they do better. The five kite brands approved by the IKA dominate the racing scene for good reason....

Re: 15 Manufacturers Advance To Factory Inspections In IKA Formula Kite Registered Series Production Scheme For Paris 20

Very unfortunate that MikesLab did not get IKA approval. Mike has made some of the very best and fastest boards and foils for years now. His development work has greatly benefited our sport. My MikesLab board was way ahead of it's time and the MikesLab foils that I have tried are a pleasure to ride....
