Re: Duotone Mono 2019

Leon- We have two separate design teams. Ken does the Rebel, Neo, and Mono. Ralf does the Juice, Dice, Vegas, and Evo With several months to work on each and a rapid-prototyping method that we've honed over the 10+ years we've worked with the factory (from new design to the kite in his hand in just ...

AWSI Industry Job Board... Find a Job in the Illustrious Windsport Industry!!!

Hey guys- The good people at the AWSI (the kite/SUP/windsurf industry group for North America) have created a job board for industry jobs (at this point most positions are based in North America). Find everything from summer positions as an instructor to career positions in design/marketing/sales. F...

Re: Camber induced kites?

Ah. I see the difference. Sorry for misunderstanding the objective, ignore my earlier post. Just another reason I'm not in Hawaii designing kites right now dammit.

Re: Which 5 or 6m kite you guys advise from Duotone/North?

I ride in similar conditions pretty regularly and know the lineup pretty good and I would also recommend the Rebel. 5 struts will really help maintain canopy shape and full depower in the increased gustiness you get in really high winds, and Ken (the Rebel designer) famously does a good job of tallo...

Re: Duotone customer service nightmare

Just to clarify a few things: 1. If you fill out a "contact" form on our website your message is automatically forwarded to the person in charge of your area. Generally this will be an official Boards&More (Duotone/Fanatic/Ion) employee/agent, but in some areas it may be a local independent distribu...

Re: Duotone customer service nightmare

I work for Duotone in North America. David, we've been in touch via email in the past using both my old Northsports account and my newer Boards and More account. You're always welcome to email me back on either of those or call me on the phone number on the signature on those emails. You are also (a...

Re: ION Ballistic Boots Shaft too stretchy

Personally I think you should try the al pastor. Goes to show we all have different tastes I think they make the instep so flexible for ease of entry, with the strap there to secure you once you're in, but I definitely understand your thoughts. Either way I'll definitely pass your thoughts on to the...

Re: ION Ballistic Boots Shaft too stretchy

Really sorry you're not happy with your booties, but just a thought... The Ballistic boots are our most expensive booty specifically BECAUSE we use super stretchy rubber with the super stretchy hot-stuff liner. I wear these boots personally in cold water for both surfing and kiting, tighten the foot...

Re: North/Duotone Dice 18 and 19

When we first introduced the Dice in 2014 it was a great kite in its usable windrange, but that windrange was very narrow. It had no grunt, so you needed to be well powered, but the tips would deform if it got even a little overpowered. In 2015 we added another bridle point to help stabilize the tip...
