Re: What harness to choose? Mystic vs Prolimit

Hi guys, I'm quite new in the kitesurfing scene and I was looking to buy a harness. Now I found two and am doubting between the 2018 Mystic Star and the 2016 Prolimit Predator. I was wondering if somebody has any experience with one of these harnesses or could give me some advice. Also, is there a ...

Re: Tried a backroll, broke some ribs!

For me the easiest way to learn semi-sent backrolls (meaning not a proper jump but still some support from the kite via shifting it towards 11-1) was to simply place hands center of the bar and then letting go of the back hand once airborne. You will automagically redirect the kite properly, and It ...

Re: Medium to Big jumps with surfboard

- if you ride a surfboard you will be bothered IF it breaks.
- if you ride a twintip you will be bothered no matter what (and it can break too).

Re: North Valves: Continuing a sad story

Evo 7m 2017 here, 2 repairs in one vacation but valve on a strut is always leaking. The kite has 30 sessions max on it. On the flip side, I am now riding my wife’s 7m Rebel (which is obviously my old kite...), I think it’s 2014-15 and still rocking despite an infinite amount of kamikaze crashes whil...

Re: Which is your preferred trim system?

Click bar is honestly really good. Besides the click trim system the no-front-line-twisting feature is really super cool (I’ve never seen any of the other brands “auto-untwist ever actually reliably working). It’s obviously expensive and obviously a luxury: nobody “needs” it, but if you can afford i...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

I don’t see the scandal. Yes, kites are obviously “overpriced” vs. manufacturing cost. Yes, real innovations are now mostly marginal. Yes, each year every kite is the new “do it all” machine. But it is all pretty obvious, and no one on earth forbids us to buy last seasons’ kites at heavy discounts. ...

Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

I’ve not followed the thing and I don’t understand how what I perceived to be the best selling brand could shut down, obviously I was wrong. Whatever, “duotone” is possibily the worst brand name I’ve ever witnessed: it sounds like a drug to be used in chemiotherapy. Somebody please fire the brand ma...

Re: Mauritius - intermediate waves?

Been there June 2017. I can almost 100 % confirm Strekke´s view. Manawa is about 1.5 km offshore. Wind is typically cross-offshore and not always stable. If anything out there goes wrong or the wind fades, you´ll quickly be dragged into oneye by the strong currents there. Where you´ll probably drow...
