Re: My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

Thats correct. Try to keep the tension off the 5th, even if you have to pop the QR. Keep pulling on ONE backline till the kite turns. The 5th then slides of the one side. Another way that I have tried, and it worked, was to grab all the lines, except the 5th, and pull hard to lift the kite up. Hold...

Re: My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

To avoid the 5th line snag, just let go of the bar. The kite will move accross the window, and start lifting as it falls back over. If you are still worried, just pull in about 4meters of your back line and twist the kite around. This has worked for me every time. Just do not get tempted to pull on...

Re: My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

By the way, why do you use a bar at all? You would be way more cool by holding the kite with your hands only, ever thought about that? So get a grip on yourself and on your bar The Rebel is also 99.99% Anti-Hindenberg I am not cool just seasoned and experienced 8) From your style on riding hooked i...

Re: My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

Not sure if you've ever been on a kite... You know, if you do big crash while looping/rotating, and you loose grip with the bar The North trust bar 2012 has enough red-orange color on the bar end to identify left side :thumb: As far as having been on a kite..... Rebels exclusively 2010 model / 2011...

Re: My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

I totally HATE the look of the bar...why on earth can't they use some bright, big color to identify left-right??? Would it help you if your car steering wheel had left side red and right side green :?: Would you be less accident prone :?: Not sure if you've ever been on a kite... You know, if you d...

My review of Rebel 2012, 12M

Hi all, posting a few lines to share my experience with my new Rebel 2012. I'm an intermediate kiteboarder, a lot into "old school" and not at all into freestyle, to be clear what i like and what i was looking for is huge air, hang time, etc. etc. I've been testing the Rebel over a week spent in Dak...

Looks like they are going for onepump on this one, probably bc of more struts.
As a Wainman owner, i wonder how will they sell this magical one-pump system after bragging for years that no-one really needs one-pump systems which brake, complicate things, etc. etc....

Re: Joke vs Gambler

Can't speak about the Joke, but what you are looking for i've found in the WH Blunt. It's by far the best board i've ever ridden, and while i'm not advanced enough to recognize big differences between one kite or the other, it truly affects big time my performance when i use any other board. It razo...

Re: Same Old Kites

Why do you feel you need new kites? Kiteboarding is basically all about progression and ability of the rider, and this has little to do with the kite. Unless you are an advanced kiteboarder, you will hardly even be able to feel the difference between a 2011 kite from a 2012 kite. What do you expect?...

Re: 2012 Wainman smoke vs 2012 Slingshot rpm?

I had for 2 years a Smoke, and was always uber happy. I'm an intermediate rider, no un-hooked moves, so probably didn't even scratch what it could do. But one thing is for sure: that kite had the greatest range i've ever seen, i had for the last 2 years a 7-9-12- quiver and was basically 95% of the ...
