Re: Nobile XTR vs. Spleene RIP 39

Here is a link to the UK Kitesuf Magazine Test. Unfortunately it is a little short and they didn't seem to get all boards in time for the test so they could only compare 4boards. http://www.spleene.com/html_english/pdf_info/testreport_ht39.pdf Kitesurf-54-banner-500x120.gif http://www.kitesurf-magaz...

Re: The new Spleene Q

Hi Bill, Sorry for the delayed reply but weekends are always a busy time for us. Even though your question is a little off topic it gives me the opportunity to clarify the situation. Spleene made kiteboards since about 2001/02. Rainer Kauper the designer/shaper and head of Spleene Germany is widely ...

Re: The new Spleene Q

without an even general wind range chart it pretty much makes it an unreallistic purchase since the kites are not in the Wisconsin area to try. ranting to follow----- It is seriously a pisser to see all the shapes and sizes of kites out there that woudl be great to try but to be limited to only wha...

Re: small kite big board?

Folks, NO brands please!!! If you need to talk about your brands, PM eachother or start a new thread. Just kite/board size talk here...anyway. Winds I was thinking was under 14knots, not super light, but light enough. My weight is 85kgs, but hoping to get down to 75kg this summer. :) anyway, sounds...

Re: Nobile XTR vs. Spleene RIP 39

In the next Issue of the UK Kitesurf Magazine they tested the Spleene HT-RIP39 against many other lightwind boards. I am not 100% sure but I think the XTR was in the test too. We have to wait until the Magazine is released but the Editor already gave me some very positive feedback about the HT-RIP39...

Re: The new Spleene Q

so what is the wind range of the kites? Windranges are a bit of a personal thing and depend on many factors. Obviously everyone who has ever tried or tested the "Q", incl. the Magazines agree that it has Mega Lowend and I fully support this view. The great lowend of the "Q" is also very ease to ach...

Re: The new Spleene Q

There is a separate leash attachment O'ring to which you attach the handlepass-leash at the side of the chickenloop. I use it like this because I also do the odd unhooked trick. However if you never unhook then you wouldn't need a separate handlepass-leash for the systems safety function to work. So...

Re: The new Spleene Q

Thats the trick - its leashless (for hocked riders) you engage the safety while the chickenloop remains at the harness. But for unhooked riding there is a attachement - not seen up to now What a Crap, unsafe control system! A leash should be connected to a flagging line, so when engaged, totally de...

Re: The new Spleene Q

Yes, you are missing something here. He is trying to provoke the kite to invert and to loop through itself. In the commentary he says that the kite sits nicely on its back without trying to flutter upwards or showing signs to invert. From this, belly up position you normally just pull one of the tw...
