Re: Florida kiting at Christmas

Warmer water (no colder than 76F) in the keys and up to as far North as Jupiter on the East Coast. In the winter, the only insulation I have ever used is a 2mm wetsuit top, although some people will wear full suits. If you want waves, head further north than Miami area. If you want flat water, head ...

Re: Wainman bar question

Similar in design to the Liquid Force CPR release on the 2010 and newer bars. I do as you suggested and run my leash through the chicken loop. I don't really unhook at all when I am riding, so not an issue for me. I could see it getting in the way of things if you are hooking and unhooking regularly...

Re: A nuke-proof repair method for stripped FCS screw thread

Just saw you had already considered the helicoil option...

I have no experience with these in fiberglass, but that was where my first thought went. I've had great success with them in many other applications.

Re: Cabrinha Alias vs. Airush Sector 60 V3

Stafford, do you have access to the Mini-Tuttle to FCS adapters? I looked on the site, and I didn't see them. They appear to be notoriously difficult to find in the US. If you have a line on them, I'd love to know where to get some. I have a Sector 60 v 1.5 and I'd like to try playing with some "sur...

Re: where to buy aqua seal?

+1 for dive shop. I've bought tubes at a couple of different shops; they stock it for wetsuit repairs.

Re: 1mm wetsuit for warm water suggestions

I'm in south Florida. The water temperature here never drops below ~ 73 F in the ocean due to the proximity of the gulf stream. I'll do up to 4 hour sessions with air temperatures as low as 60 degrees or so with just a 2mm Matuse Chapter 1 wetsuit top and some board shorts. It's made of a closed cel...

Re: Any use this to carry surfboards??

I have a sector as well, and no way is the thickest part of that board going to fit in that rack. The only "give" is via the compression of the foam on the top and bottom bar. Maybe something like the Gatekeeper below. You have a single locking mechanism mounted on the rear crossbar that is designed...

Re: Lost one fin on Sector V2 60....

A new set of replacement fins is pricey... I think in the past, Stafford at has had some replacement fins for the V2 Sector available. Another option I have seen (on a V1 board at least) is to move your trailing fins up to the lead spot and then use a mini-tuttle to FCS Ada...
