Re: old and flabby wants to finally learn to kite

It grieves me, but I expect my lack of commitment means that my picture will never grace the front pages of kiting magazines, nor will I be featured in best adds surrounded by bikini clad beauties. Hopefully I can glean the best of the suggestions contained herein and over the next couple years adv...

Re: old and flabby wants to finally learn to kite

. Good people, I have mastered the art of not learning to kite by taking lessons at roughly one year intervals and then not going near the water until my cerebellum has forgotten everything it might have learned. I hope to finally change that. There have been a few mitigating factors--hurricanes, be...

Re: Max wind a quadcopter can handle? Yes, to shoot riders!

. For the gun controllers who may think my favorite drone (above) is excessive, here's a new one to shoot (miscreant) kiters. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2576091/The-smart-security-drone-STUN-GUN-built-attack-intruders.html#ixzz2vNTP7taR Richard M. Re: Safe student launch?

Use what? Fakebook? That makes no sense. BTW that bit about the "HARD dragging" on the beach for beginners is just to get a rise out of me, or someone, isn't it? This sounds like an great way to find beercans or dog poo with your toes. Maybe not on your beach that you patrol with a rake and a metal...

Re: Safe student launch?

Naw, man, it becomes you. And no, I'm no instructor. Never claimed it. After 10+ years kiting I can certainly see the errors of their ways though. Well, if it really turns you on, feel free to use it on your fakebook page. Richard M. Malibu Kitesurfing - since 2002 (310) - 430 - KITE (5483) http://...

Re: Safe student launch?

Buy a bigger shovel, you can move the same amount of sh** without so many keystrokes mr malibu. Thanks for the tip. You may be correct, since shoveling shit is indisputably an area where you DO have extensive expertise. However, as to kiting instruction, your considered and thoughtful personal atta...

Re: Safe student launch?

Well you have a point and maybe I wrote too much on the subject already. I will say this though, there are some kiters I would pass a kite to, and some I would not. One more reason not to, is that it doesn't teach the student anything much of value. That is really not fair when tuition is usually $...

Re: MOST SEXY KITE PICTURE

Nice picture taken at our spot in Playa del Carmen Mexico ;) http://www.caribbean-kite.com http://www.facebook.com/kiteboardingplayadelcarmenmexico Without meaning to change the topic, note how this novice (student ?) is flying his kite directly over a swimmer downwind of him and that the photo is ...

Re: Safe student launch?

Advice to newbies: I would not trust an instructor that would pass you a full size flying kite for which you had not MASTERED the steering, sheeting, safety release, launch and landing, especially if the kite is overhead. Wingtip on water is safer, preferably with someone holding the LE. Instructor...

Re: Safe student launch?

. I have personally done this over 10,000 times  why am i not surprised, mr malibu strikes again Then again, 10000 times means theoretically every day for over 27 years, or three times a day for over 9 years. Therefore what you are saying is statistically likely to be a pile of horseshit. ...
