Re: Personality Alteration while kiting

I dont get aggressive or anything... I just look like a crazy person when I'm trying new things or riding waves in high wind. I am constantly talking to my kite... "Be nice" , "Dont do that", "Come on be a good girl"... by the way my kite is a girl. :D :D :D

Re: Exactly what they don't need there.

That is absolutely crazy, kids downwind, no control whatsoever of the kite, and someone is handing him a board? Things are getting kooky in my home spot these days also.

Re: Leash discussion

When I lose my board, usually in waves, I just send my kite and pop myself out of the water about 5-10ft and look down. At that point i know where it is and body drag to it.

Re: Isle of Palms kiting?

All depends, typical day with the seabreeze kicking in 15-20mph. frontal activity or something offshore could bump up to the mid 20's. If you have wind alert, they have a station on the IOP pier and at 28.5. It will give you real time wind and direction. Also the forecast/ briefing on windalert for ...

Re: Tips For Kiting In Litchfield? (Pawleys Island)

Havent ridden that area yet. But it may not be the best place to ride with your experience. You might be better off driving 1 hour south to charleston area and ride in the flatter areas that have more of a buffer for mistakes. IE: waist deep water for a couple hundred yards. If you decide to come fu...

Re: Isle of Palms kiting?

IOP and Sullivans island is our local launches here. Pretty big and cool Kite scene here. On IOP we are only allowed to launch south of 3rd and North of 51st. The beach patrol is very focused about this. Stay 200ft from swimmers and offshore. Sullivans island at 28.5st is probably the best for kitin...

Re: Quiver changes - still a beginner

I have a two kite quiver... 9m and 12m Bandit 6. I use a a Monk TT, a custom door, and a strapless surfboard. This will get me going in pretty much everything in my area. I second getting the final lessons. One good word of advice i was given when i started was that you have to go downwind to go upw...

Re: Bandit 6 questions

I am also switching from cab xbow to the bandit 6. I demo'd the bandit 6 for 3 days in different wind conditions. The b6 punched thru the gusts and handled the higher winds (12m in 18-20mph) very well. better than the 13m xbow that I'm replacing. I found that the low end of the B6 and the xbow were ...

Re: Photos - Key West & Kiting The Flats At Christmas
