Re: foil cavitating, ventilating, broaching, solution

I wish I have made a longer mast. Mine is 90cm. I have to be constantly vigilant with descent swell and wind chop. Rode a longer master a couple of weeks ago and it was bliss.

That said. Ride the foil deeper, board closer the water, The bigger/steeper the troughs the deeper you ride.

Re: Flat or curved kite for insane wind days

You have to fly C kite and or hybrid C kites differently to high aspect sle's. It is true that a C will drop you like a stone. But you let it, hold the kite back and then throw a fast hard send across the zenith and down in front of you to get a pollowy landing.... Or throw a downloop or 2. Kite spe...

I'm not surprised however. It was obvious that he was a good designer but not a good businessman.

Re: Build an own stabilizer?

My suggestion is to make a basic press, press a couple of layers of plywood into a radius. Then get out the angle grinder with flapper wheel/40 grip sanding disc and go hard making a wing shape. Then glass or carbon over top. Job done. PS make sure you use a hydrofoil friendly NACA wing profile and ...

Re: Winging is half-assed kite foiling - discuss

I have zero interest in winging. To me it looks like the worst of both worlds between kiting and windsurfing. Anyway, I am not a waterman seeking more ways to get on the water. I'm a kite flyer that flies his kite on the water because its fun. When i'm in a location to fly my kites on the land in a ...

Re: Foilers that switch to TT above 15-16 knots

At 75 kg in my birthday suit I use my 8m from 10-20 knots foiling. Then use my 8m again on the mutant from 20 knots to 30 ish. I end up using my 8m 90% of the time. However It is dependant on the sea and wind conditions. Not much waves for boost and wave ride in higher winds. I'll take the foil. Foi...

Use a smaller kite. No more death run when you are only just powered.

Re: Has a quick go on a J shapes cruiser foil

Would have been cool if I was on a 6m. Then I could have really chucked it into some hard carving.

Has a quick go on a J shapes cruiser foil

I had a quick blast on the J shapes cruiser foil. It had the 95cm mast. I'm not sure which board, I think maybe the 140. The board was set up with 2 front foot straps on the angle and none at the back. Anyway I hadn't foiled since before covid lock down in April. Conditions were a gusty 12-20 knots ...
