It's all very subjective, there is a reason surfers tend to own so many boards - for so many varying conditions/ setups. You dont want too much volume, that way the board stays high in the water even on the wave and you cannot sink the tail which lets you get aggressive and keep control. High volume...

The shrink wrap saga (snapping lines) was a result of heat affecting the strength of the line where the shrink wrap was applied... it was a disaster of an idea.

all these rules lol! i saw a physical confrontation recently with someone trying to tell locals how it works and how they had it all wrong. Was not a well thought out move, not a wise decision. #regret

id like to see actual breaking strains of different sleeves and even simply an overhand knot... in the same dyneema an actual test rig and results, i have chopped lines with scissors and simply tied overhand knots, no sleeving, to make a larks head - never had one snap.. would like to know exactly ...

naish sewed the rope to the loop so it couldnt move so much to wear down inside (still could though) and if it wore out you still had the strength of the pvc tubing. You need real engineers with plenty of real life engineering and kiting experience to design good equipment otherwise you are putting ...
